Lets assume you hold one of J,X,Q, or Z. And you have a bingo for about 80 points.

You also have the option of getting 50+ points using your high pointer, while keeping a nice leave, and likely being able to bingo next turn.

In general, would you take the guaranteed 80, or hope for a much better 1-2 punch?

If I've got a lead and don't want to blow it, usually I'll play the bingo. For me to not play the bingo, it has to be a very good leave, as in one where there is almost zero chance of it getting wrecked.

It also depends on the specific board position, but I think that's beyond the intent of your question.
