How does THIS qualify as strategy??

It's ALL wrong

This guy should be shot for calling himself an 'expert'. His YouTube description claims he's been "active in numerous tournaments and gaming clubs, including Scrabble, his first love." He's not even RATED in NASPA or the NSA! Ughhhh

Yeah, I was hoping it was just going to be some disillusioned player who kicks butt at his casual club, but it's actually just some liar trying to get people to buy stuff from his website.

It bothers me that someone might find his videos and take them seriously. If I had a decent camera, I'd make a better one.

Perhaps a collaborative effort is in order in the future 8-)

Wow, that was worse than I could have imagined.

The guy needs to play against a half decent player - no wait - a sub-500 rated naspa player and get a clue on how inept he really is.

I tried to post a reply saying as much, but for some reason I couldn't, in both Seamonkey and Firefox. Beside the point. My reply would be along the lines of pointing people to Edley's book and Bihlmeyer's videos on YouTube (SpiritualMoney there).

As idiotic as this is, it was definitely entertaining. :D It's very amusing to imagine how this could have gotten from someone's head into an "expert" video.

Soon I'll be off to make my own video on subatomic particles! The one I have on can't-miss stock portfolios is almost done.

His logic is that it is a move to prevent people from making nickel plays through the v and getting an extra point or two? Still, it makes no sense. I love how Cornelia Guest and Ryan Barrett commented on this. Oh, and Ryan Barrett isn't related to me.

We are experiencing a Words With Friends boom of players that think they are Scrabble Experts. I dare them to play in a NASPA or WGPO tournament, so they can start from the bottom like everyone else. ;) Arthur Braden

Some guy named curran919 is actually trying to make videos. They're not perfectly accurate but they are a mile better than this guy.

Regardless, we shouldn't look down on them. WWF can be another recruitment tool. Inviting them to play is the right idea. Talking behind their backs about how bad they don't know they are isn't.

Wow. Those are actually quite excellent. Much better than I was expecting from a non-tournament player.

Those are really good, but they do delve into technicalities and math a bit too soon perhaps. And perhaps it's paced a bit too fast to try and absorb the info he's trying to get across.

As a "semi-pro" (if my rating is at all accurate) I never even bothered with leave valuations and letter valuations. I just kind of have a general idea of what letters have synergy and which ones don't.

Some are very obvious like CH or NG being good and VU or WU being horrible.

Avoid duplicates, 3-2 C-V ratio, all that. It gets me by without that extra work.

Yup. That discussion was a year ago, but I see he has since played some tournaments.

I had never played club or tourneys when I started making the vids. First went to club in Calgary in June after I graduated. The expert village videos were the impetus for putting something better online. It was a knee-jerk reaction.
