#player2 Sam_Kantimathi Sam Kantimathi
>Jim_Burlant: ?KLNPTT -KLT +0 0
#note Quackle also prefers throwing in the P.
>Sam_Kantimathi: DIP 8G DIP +12 12
>Jim_Burlant: ?ENOPTW 7F WOP +17 17
#note Quackle prefers J6 WOT and J8 TOW. I'd rather unload W and P.
>Sam_Kantimathi: BY G6 B..Y +14 26
>Jim_Burlant: ?CEILNT E7 sTENCIL +74 91
#note Or J6 CuTLINE.
>Sam_Kantimathi: EELMRST 14E SMELTER +76 102
>Jim_Burlant: FHILRSU H12 FU.L +33 124
#note Best; the runner up, HULL, sims almost 5 points and 2% winning chances down. Nothing else is even close. FLUISH L10 scores 42 but breaks up too much of the rack. I'm still winning 60%.
>Sam_Kantimathi: DOTY L11 DOTY +29 131
>Jim_Burlant: BEHIRRS K10 RIB +20 144
#note Best. Nothing else sims within 6 points.
>Sam_Kantimathi: AHIRRSV -AHIR +0 131
>Jim_Burlant: AEEHIRS D12 HE +22 166
#note 13E (L)EH(U)A scores 29 and wins; this choice finiishes 11 points down.
>Sam_Kantimathi: AA J10 AA +12 143
>Jim_Burlant: AEIINRS 8D I. +3 169
#note Quackle likes M12 AI best; I'd rather open another line and keep AEINRS together.
>Sam_Kantimathi: AAEERST C2 AERATES +69 212
#note Scores 78 at C9. Sam is at 64% with this choice. C9 placement wins 70.
>Jim_Burlant: AEINNRS M5 INSNARE +64 233
#note The only playable bingo. I'm now winning 51%.
>Sam_Kantimathi: ACV C11 VAC +32 244
>Jim_Burlant: DGHIKQU 6J QUI. +33 266
#note Arrrgh. Couldn't remember QUAIGH, which would have played at 2A for 54 and taken out his next play.
>Sam_Kantimathi: OOZ B2 ZOO +50 294
>Jim_Burlant: DGHIKNR A4 DRINK +42 308
#note Best, and I'm winning 46%.
>Sam_Kantimathi: GOT K4 GO.T +10 304
>Jim_Burlant: ?EGHORX D4 EX +37 345
#note Luckbox! Easy play...and best. I'm winning 92%, but this game is about to get very interesting.
>Sam_Kantimathi: GIINV 4F GIVIN. +15 319
>Jim_Burlant: ?GHORTU L1 HUGs +44 389
#note The game-deciding position. I saw JAMS, JEES, etc. in the unseen pool and felt that, given how bingo unfriendly this pool/board were, GIVING looked like a setup for a J bomb at L1. Problem is, I had no idea whether GIVING took S. After thinking about it ("Misgivings is good, why not givings?"), and after not being able to come up with any way to block a potential J-bomb at L1, I thought that, worst case, I was still up 26, I had the blank and some good scoring tiles, I could waste a pitch and take my chances in the end game if need be. Though it didn't occur to me at the time, I caught a huge break. GIVINGS# is good in Collins, and Sam plays Collins. He held this play for several minutes before finally accepting it. Of course, if I know GIVING doesn't take S, this is a much easier position; I probably play I8 PUG and hope that his probable H1 play on his next turn gives me a line for an 8. Quackle's preferences are 13L THUG and I8 PUG.
>Sam_Kantimathi: AEEW H1 WEA.E +33 352
>Jim_Burlant: DEFOORT 1L .OOF +30 419
#note Best - have to block JOULE 2J.
>Sam_Kantimathi: EJ 2J JE. +26 378
>Jim_Burlant: ADERSTU N11 RATED +18 437
#note Didn't think of OREADS or DERATS, the latter of which would have been best. Even DERAT would have been much better. While this still wins, it hemorrhages 30-some points of spread. Horrendous end game play by me - I was just happy to have won, but I really needed to think this through more than I did.
