#note 1st game of Saturday. Let's continue my good momentum.
Not actual rack. Joe exchanged 2 tiles here.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ABEFNOT 8G FOB +16 16
#note Looks fine after his exchange 2, it also gives me a nice leave to counter his potential bingo.
>Joe_Petree: EEIORST J3 EROTISE +68 68
>Joe_Petree: EEIORST -- -68 0
#note It's only spelled with a Z buddy! I will say this was a lucky break for me.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEEGNOT 9F GAE +13 29
#note As unconventional as this looks, doing 7F TOGAE allows him to fish with 6G OE giving himself an important S hook in more than 1 spot. This way, with things being nice and tight already, if he does decide to fish, he won't score as well and I can start shaping the board the way I want long-term. So he really only has the bottom left of the board to work with on his next turn if he won't be inclined to blow up his promising rack.
>Joe_Petree: EEIORST F9 .O +5 5
>Samuel_Kaplan: EGIMNOT 11C EMOTING +74 103
#note Not doing MITOGEN after I know he's keeping EEIRST.
>Joe_Petree: EEIRSTW 12D EW +23 28
#note Unlucky draw for him, but this looks good.
>Samuel_Kaplan: COSTUUY C8 CUT.YS +33 136
#note I did see I11 (G)UY, but when he's continuing to keep well, I'm just gonna continue limiting what he can really do. This is definitely worth it over fishing and now the DEMOTING hook is no more.
>Joe_Petree: EIR 8A RI.E +21 49
>Samuel_Kaplan: DLNOPRU E4 PROUD +24 160
#note Wasn't a fan of POUND in this spot with the open R he just gave me. This is fine if Joe is not likely to have the X after appearing to groom his rack again.
>Joe_Petree: EINOSTU A8 .OUTINES +77 126
#note I like A1 SNOUTIE(R) better for him at his deficit. He needs more lines to work with.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AAFGLNP 7H FAG +19 179
>Joe_Petree: AIRW 6I WAIR +22 148
>Samuel_Kaplan: AALNNPX 10I AX +28 207
#note 5K PAX is fine. This leave is too clunky. #findingsmall
>Joe_Petree: DDLORTT -DD +0 148
#note Not actual rack. Joe exchanged 2 tiles here.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEELNNP 13E ENPLANE +69 276
#note Definitely hesitant to play this at 12I after a short exchange and still 2 blanks unseen combined with my lead.
>Joe_Petree: AEINRST 15A .TEARINS +77 225
#note Looks good. I would not have had a 3x3 played against me in this case.
>Samuel_Kaplan: BIILOQR K5 Q. +22 298
>Joe_Petree: JKO 6C JO.K +25 250
>Samuel_Kaplan: BIILORS L4 BI.O +23 321
>Joe_Petree: DHI L11 HID +25 275
>Samuel_Kaplan: AIILRSV F2 VIA +18 339
#note Close with M3 VIS. I figured if Joe doesn't bingo through the V now, I'll use the D4 hotspot to score and to further limit what he can do with the V.
>Joe_Petree: DL K12 L.D +6 281
>Samuel_Kaplan: AILMRSU D1 MILS +28 367
#note Now that he fished again, he's gonna have to start with the V with this pool. Just have to hope he can't bingo on his next turn.
>Joe_Petree: ACR 1A CRA. +24 305
#note I don't have his rack, but as it turns out, Joe did have a blank bingo through the V that I blocked. So my instincts paid off bigtime.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ALRTUVY 2F .ULVAR +14 381
#note While I do block bingoes from coming down (which was my natural instinct with both blanks still unseen), the fact is, he can hypothetically outrun me without bingoing with 1J HEEZED or the more obscure DEZiNc if he picked the other blank after doing CRAM. But based on his last play, I felt it was more likely that the Z was in the bag instead of on his rack because I can't imagine he would be keeping the Z on his rack if he's looking to bingo. There won't be things like VELARIZE or VOLUMIZE available with this pool. So I thought I was going to be OK after this play. 9J ARTY and A1 CURVY looks like counterintuitive plays, but they win more often than my play most likely because even if he does get his bingo down, I could still outrun with a Z play of my own.
>Joe_Petree: ?DEENOT 1J DENOTE +29 334
#note Looks good to cut spread. K8 kNEE(LED) is very nice board vision!
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?EEHTYZ M7 HaZY +41 422
#note Oof, G1 Y(U)TZEs is amazing vision itself. This gets it done, but G1 Y(U)TZEs is 6 spread points better. #endgamemedium
>Joe_Petree: ? 6C ....s +15 349
#note 11K s(H) is 1 more point for him. He was clawing his way back with those stem bingoes after I had early board control, but I got another big win. 3-1 +184.
