#player2 John_Wilder John Wilder
>Samuel_Kaplan: AACINPT 8B CAPTAIN +78 78
#note Good start. Hopefully my early lead will actually hold up this time. But this trend of opening bingoes won't last forever.
>John_Wilder: EHHRRSZ C7 H.ZE +30 30
#note Thanks to John for providing his racks for this one. I've played some virtual games with him prior to finally seeing him in person! It appears to me that he was unsure if HAZER was good, so he played it safe. I like HAZER over E5 HERTZ if he's holding an S considering they both give back a hotspot.
>Samuel_Kaplan: DGIOTWY 11C DOGY +36 114
#note I was hesitant to play 11A GODWIT just because it doesn't address the B10 hotspot, but 4 more points is fine and ITW isn't doing much on this board. John isn't going to shut down the lanes in CAPTAIN when he's behind. #strategymedium
>John_Wilder: HOQRRSS G7 Q.S +23 53
#note Looks good. This was played almost instantly.
>Samuel_Kaplan: EIIITUW -IIIUW +0 114
#note After I specified a partial rack of another S that John has after playing QIS very quickly, I'd rather get myself out of this mess than play 7G QUITE. I can't risk a tie game if he bingoes through a double double lane and I am keeping a garbage leave of IIW. I win about as often exchanging compared to playing through this rack.
>John_Wilder: HNOORRS E5 NOR.H +16 69
#note I like D10 H(O)NOR better for him when he's down and holding an S. And it scores 4 more.
>Samuel_Kaplan: EFLLNTU D1 FLUTE +26 140
#note Not a good draw, but this looks fine. F3 ENUF, which I saw, doesn't score enough extra points over this to justify keeping a clunkier LLT leave. D10 F(O)UL was not happening after he played QIS in the manner he did. And John is random enough even with an S inferred that I was OK with doing this.
>John_Wilder: AEJORSW 2A JOW. +28 97
#note Looks like the clear best play.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEIILNR 12F AIRLINE +71 211
#note Mhm
>John_Wilder: AEIMRSV J7 VIREM.AS +67 164
#note Not sure if he saw the 7 in this rack of MISAVER which does play at M6 for 5 more. This is still a nice find.
>Samuel_Kaplan: DIMOTWY K10 WI.Y +38 249
#note How on earth did I draw a rack one letter off from the rack I had when I played DOGY a few turns ago? And even more impressive was the fact that I drew another D, W, and a Y, not even a high probability rack. K10 WY(N)D is a little tricky to spot and is 6 more. Not too big of a mistake. #findingsmall
>John_Wilder: ADEFRRR H10 FA.RER +27 191
#note This was a much bigger mistake letting this stay on the board. I did hold but was too scared to challenge knowing I had a decent scoring play. Nice job getting this one past me John.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?DLMOTT 3B MO.LT +28 277
#note Yea, I can score decently and get some clunk off my rack. Looks good.
>John_Wilder: DEKNOPR 1D .ORKED +42 233
#note Looks like a solid play to open up another line for 7s.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?ADNSTT 4F ATTeNDS +68 345
#note Not doing this at 2I with a lead.
>John_Wilder: DILNOPS 10B P.D +15 248
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?BEEEGO A10 OGEE +13 358
#note I'll let him bingo with the AIRLINES hook, but not this dangerous lane.
>John_Wilder: ILNOOSU K3 U.O +8 256
#note I like DUO better to leave Row 2 open. He does need to bingo at this point which is why I think he did fine fishing instead of doing 2F OIL.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?ABEEII -ABEII +0 358
#note D10 (DO)BIE would have been fine. #visionmedium
>John_Wilder: BILNOSV I1 .OV.N +12 268
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?CEEIUX D10 ..XIE +26 384
#note Figured this would block the R in FARRER* and mint the board for another scoring play in the endgame in case he bingoes, which would empty the bag. I saw and considered doing M8 EXCUsE but how is that stopping him from bingoing?
>John_Wilder: ABEIILS M6 BAILIES +69 337
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?ABCEIU 15A ABUsE +31 415
#note I did not see N2 CUmBIA but this is a better 2 move score anyway.
>John_Wilder: AEGNTU 8L G.TE +21 358
#note N2 TEGUA is the best spread cutter for him.
>Samuel_Kaplan: CI 14F IC. +7 422
#note Or H4 (T)IC. I think I played this one decently aside from letting FARRER* stay on the board. I will also say that John played this one well too, and PED was basically mandatory for him at his deficit.
