>Richard_Popper: APRRY 8D PARRY +26 26
>David_Weisberg: HIOPRSU 7H OUPH +15 15
#note I had forgotten RUPIAH, which is a strong play here at E4 for 22. I was aware of the SPARRY hook but not sure I considered C3 HOURIS 31. A strange-looking play wins the sim: F6 PURI 12. It beats RUPIAH by about a point and beats OUPH and HOURIS by about 3. (The other OUPH at 9H comes out a tiny bit behind mine.) According to sim results, opponent only averages 31 for the next turn with PURI vs. 43 for OUPH, 41 for HOURIS, or 37 for RUPIAH, and bingos only 16% of the time from PURI vs. around 20-23% for other plays.

Meanwhile, on my next turn, I bingo about 31% of the time with PURI, 27% with RUPIAH, and 15% with HOURIS, but 45% with OUPH. I suppose without an S in hand, PURI is fairly restrictive and I often can hit SPARRY or PURIS next turn. I wasn't sure if Richard would know SPARRY, so I hoped to use that to my advantage while opening a separate part of the board. The weakness of OUPH is it can give a lot back on the triple, but I'd think I often get 8s through his plays there if I don't have a better 7 elsewhere. I'm not sure what to conclude here except that my play still looks reasonable.
>Richard_Popper: BCNO E7 B.CON +18 44
>David_Weisberg: DFGIIRS 6F DIF +20 35
#note The computer prefers 12A FRIGS 36 by about 1.5 over 6F GIF, which in turn comes out 3 ahead of my play. DIF and GIF I believe were both added during my long hiatus (I just returned in 2022), and for some reason I wasn't 100% on GIF. Again I thought the S might help me more than usual with the uncertainty around his knowing SPARRY. 36 is a lot, and it may be technically correct, but I didn't want to count on a good draw, or even getting another S. If I could go back I'd play GIF, which the sim says will bingo 45% of the time next turn.
>Richard_Popper: DEELNRS L7 SLENDER +78 122
>David_Weisberg: AGIIRSV 5E VIG +20 55
#note Sim prefer 12A VIGAS 36 by about 1.5. I'm noticing a pattern. SLENDER doesn't take S, so I wanted to preserve two S lines and the strong bingo leave.
>Richard_Popper: AX M8 AX +36 158
>David_Weisberg: AAAFIRS K11 AFAR +27 82
#note Very risky. I took the slight chance that he doesn't know AFARS, but I thought by now even if he does, maybe he doesn't have an S yet. Winning the sim is the clever F setup K9 RAIA 28, all but guaranteeing I'll have an F play of around 30 or more next tiurn, with the other TLS next to BACON open. The big overlap play of K6 SHARIA 39 stylishly burns the first S for a lot while still setting up the F if I draw an L or R. I might have played that just to finally get some points. It comes in just 1.5 behind RAIA. F10 FA comes nearly 3 behind RAIA, but keeping 2 A's didn't look too good, and I wanted something more dynamic. My play falls 4 points behind RAIA. Since it keeps the S without giving back an easy triple, RAIA looks solid to me.

>Richard_Popper: BM 8L ..MB +24 264
>David_Weisberg: ACDEINS C2 CANDIES +83 181
#note Sims slightly better than 12A INCASED 86, which I missed the spot for, but I'd much prefer it given, once again, keeping SPARRY open. He did just play off two tiles, so he might be about to bingo, but I may have to depend on that hook staying open for another of my own.
>Richard_Popper: IO D11 OI +7 271
#note Definitely close to a bingo from him now
>David_Weisberg: EEGHLUV K4 VUG. +22 203
#note K3 HEUGH 24 does about 3 points better. It's another surprise S hook as I could have used the fact that it hooks S on either side to my advantage. I knew the word but not the hook. Without this, VUGH is probablly the best I can do.

#note I'm dead now but M12 YEH 33 or 16G JEU 23 are better for equity
>Richard_Popper: Q 6B Q. +31 382

#note N2 LEHAYIM 46 is a few points better. I missed it.
