>Eric_Harshbarger: ABBCOT 8D BOBCAT +30 30
#note I just lost 2 in a row to be knocked from first place to out of contention. If I win this, I cash, but I felt like I was not focused during this game.
>Morris_Greenberg: DINOTTY 9C TIDY +23 23
#note TODY, I was forgetting if that was valid or just was thinking of TOADY.
>Eric_Harshbarger: EESVX J4 VEXES +44 74
#note At least TIDY doesn't give back VEXES for 53 like TODY would have!
>Morris_Greenberg: ANORSTZ 10B ZONA +44 67
#note I didn't think Eric necessarily had another S the last turn, VEXES just scores so much for the board. I thought this aggressiveness was fine as a result, Quackle agrees.
>Eric_Harshbarger: DEHR 11E HERD +32 106
>Morris_Greenberg: EPRSTTU 5E SPUTT.R +36 103
#note I completely whiff on UPSETT(E)R. Deserved loss. I think I assumed it would be unlikely Eric would play at the SPUTTER/(ODA)S spot without an S, and forgot about the H hook. I needed to focus here and look harder through the E, I didn't see it right away, but I reviewed UPSETTER in my flashcards the week before the tournament.

#note Maybe (V)ANE for more volatility?

>Morris_Greenberg: AGIIOUY C1 O.GUIYA +24 245
#note I really disliked playing so many tiles to speed up the game, but I think this is my only realistic shot.

>Morris_Greenberg: AGILLNW 15A .LAWLING +107 352
>Morris_Greenberg: AGILLNW -- -107 245
#note This is too desperate a phony, WALL 12L wins 4% of the time still, I should only be doing this with under 1% to win. I thought Eric still is in commanding enough position that if he is not 100%, he might let it go and I can maybe steal it, but this phony just looks so ridiculous. Funny enough after the game, he asked if I was thinking of FLATWING*, and I said I think FLATLING is good and see said he would've thought that's phony too. So, maybe the most practicaly chance is to just play (O)W 3H, it hits with the T for FLATLING and the I for FLAILING, and could draw a challenge.

#note What a nice find by Eric!

Overall I am pretty happy with my play from this tournament. I definitely felt like I competed hard and had a good plan in most of the games. Obviously it was a bit disheartening to go from first with 3 rounds left to ninth by the end. I didn't realize until after the tourney I only got 14 blanks to my opponents 26 (but to be fair, both my opponents and I had 37 bingos apiece - so I am not sure the extent to which that was caused by my play style and better play with the blanks vs. luck of ideal timing of when certain letters were drawn), so even though there are some moves I would've definitely liked to redo, I think I overall did a good job of making lemonade from lemons and turning lost positions into wins or at least chances for wins and not allowing my opponents to do the reverse too often. I don't know when I'll compete next, but I am excited to continue striving for excellence in this game.
