Player 1
#player1 Peggy_Altazan Peggy Altazan
#player2 Jonathan_Lindh Jonathan Lindh
>Peggy_Altazan: ANV 8G VAN +12 12
#note 2024 Crescent City Cup. Round 1.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AAIIIRT -AII +0 0
#note I don't agree with Quackle here. I7 INIA for 6 seems very dangerous. I'm fine with my play. Quackle thinks my play is 2nd.
>Peggy_Altazan: EHNW J6 WHEN +25 37
>Jonathan_Lindh: AIIJRTV H4 AJIV. +16 16
#note Quackle likes H8 AJIVA by a tiny bit, but it's very close.
>Peggy_Altazan: OOP K5 POO +20 57
>Jonathan_Lindh: ILPRRTU L4 RIPT +30 46
#note I should not be playing phony 4's. This unchallenged 4 is better than any valid play if left unchallenged.
>Peggy_Altazan: DOU I3 UDO +17 74
>Jonathan_Lindh: BELLRUZ 2F BULL +17 63
#note Seems best, maybe BURL. This board has a terrible shape.
>Peggy_Altazan: MNO 3E NOM +19 93
>Jonathan_Lindh: EFHRWYZ 4C WHEY +36 99
#note Best.
>Peggy_Altazan: AEST 5C EATS +33 126
>Jonathan_Lindh: EFRRSYZ 3A RYE +24 123
#note I didn't think of 10J SERRY for 31. That scores more than my play and doesn't give back as much. First noticeable mistake of the game (other than the unchallenged phony 4 in theory).
>Peggy_Altazan: OU A1 OU. +9 135
>Jonathan_Lindh: DFRSTUZ 10G FUDS +23 146
#note Close. Quackle likes TURDS for 25 in the same spot. DZ is more flexible than RTZ on this board.
>Peggy_Altazan: EFST M3 FETS +30 165
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?NORRTZ 6B ORT +18 164
#note 2nd best. I almost exchanged, but then I thought I should keep scoring. Right idea. ORT is very solid since there are very few hooks to ORT left in the pool and I hold one of them, but 6C ROT for 20 is safer. Didn't see it.
>Peggy_Altazan: AGG N2 GAG +19 184
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?INQRTZ O1 ZIN +45 209
#note Best, althought O1 QI for 36 is very close, which I considered. I was going for TRANQ/TORT given all of the unseen A's and 2 N's left in the pool.
>Peggy_Altazan: ACDENO A6 CANOED +33 217
>Peggy_Altazan: ACDENO -- -33 184
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?ABIQRT A6 TRAnQ +43 252
#note The Championship Player doesn't initally find TRANQ, but it sims pretty highly once added to the sim. TRANQ really locks down the board with a bingo sized lead. Quackle prefers 11F QAT for 19 or J1 QAT for 25 or 6G QI for 11, all of which I understand.
>Peggy_Altazan: ACENO 11C CANOE +19 203
>Jonathan_Lindh: BCDEIIX 12D XED +45 297
#note Best.
>Peggy_Altazan: DEEG 13C GEED +30 233
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?BCIIII -BIII +0 297
>Peggy_Altazan: EIIIIII - +0 233
#note Exchange 2. Not actual rack.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?ACEIIL B8 LEI +21 318
#note I like B9 AI for 18 better in retrospect.
>Peggy_Altazan: BI 9J .IB +5 238
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?AACIIL 1G LA +17 335
#note Keeping things very tight.
>Peggy_Altazan: MO 10L OM +8 246
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?ACIIIK M10 .ICKs +24 359
#note This was a stroke of genius. It seems odd at first to randomly tack on a blank for no scoring value at all, but doing so here heavily obstructs Peggy's bingos. I realized some time after the game, this play should be MICKy and not MICKs as MICKy blocks a few more bingos than MICKs does.
>Peggy_Altazan: EENRRST O1 ...S +20 266
#note It turns out I blocked STERNER/ODDS so my plan paid off. H10 URETER for 29 and ZINS are the best endgames.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AAIII J1 AA +13 372
#note Quackle wants me to block H10 URETER for 29 but none of us are seeing that. AA is fine.
>Peggy_Altazan: EENRRT 14G RENTER. +8 274
#note H10 URETER for 29.
>Peggy_Altazan: (III) +6 280
