>Joey: AILNRTT -LT +0 0
>James: BDEIIRZ 8G BIZ +28 28
>Joey: AILNRRT 9C RATLIN +15 15
#note TRINAL is better defensively.
>James: ADEGIPR H2 DIAPER..G +64 92
#note I miss the only eight, PARRIDGE, and its placement at c7 for 80. Luckily, I look long enough to notice that a nine plays.
>Joey: EKOORSU 8A ROOK +52 67
>James: ?AHRTUV 10B VAT +24 116
>Joey: EERSTUX 2C EXTRU.ES +70 137
#note Not quite worth forgoing the bingo now with a play like EX.
>James: ?CHLRUV 10H .ULCH +13 129
#note I didn't mind my play too much, but better was CULVER 6d. It sims 4 ahead of GULCH.
>Joey: BDEEFLO 1A BODE +37 174
#note FLOE is a slight upgrade.
>James: ?LMRTVW 6G M.WL +11 140
#note Aargh, I'm not drawing well. Arguably better was CWM k10, keeping the E open with my consonant-heavy rack and scoring more than MEWL. Sim places CWM ahead of MEWL by about 3.5.
>Joey: DEFGLOS C7 F...GED +32 206
>James: ?CINRTV 4G N.VICeRT +74 214
>Joey: EILNQRS -LQ +0 206
>James: ?EHINOS O4 SHOEINg +94 308
>Joey: AEEINRS K8 IN.REASE +70 276
>James: AEIOPTY 15J P.YOTE +45 353
#note I notice TEAPOY 15j first, then spot PEYOTE. I consider YAP n6 to block J plays at n6, but it's not really my style to be paranoid like that.
>Joey: DINSTWY N2 DI.SY +52 328
#note JC: D'oh! I shoulda been paranoid. A nice play, fighting to stay in it.
>James: AAEIINU 5F NI.A +20 373
#note My play's OK, but it's a little dangerous to keep only vowels with the unseen tiles being half vowels. I miss the much better RIA 7h. I start really hoping to draw the Q.
>Joey: JMNOTUW 3A JOW +40 368
>James: AAEFILU L12 FA +22 395
#note I fear Joey's got the Q and is going to score big with it at 12h, but 12a is just as dangerous on that count. I try to time the endgame, score points, and get rid of my duplicate A with two unseen. Plus, I'm still really hoping to pick the Q with my U. If Joey scores big with a 12a play, I'll have QUAI a12 at least.
>Joey: EEMNOTU D12 MOUE +25 393
#note I should probably just play ME to make the endgame harder for him. Boy was the Q threat a headache back in these days.
>James: AAEGILU N10 AGUE +10 405
#note My best play was VAGUE b10, allowing QAT n13 and LIAR m1 for a final spread of +32. I cost myself a couple of credits by not playing optimally; I missed first place overall by 3 credits. Endgame matters!
>Joey: AENOQT L6 QAT +16 409
>James: AIL M1 LIA. +15 420
#note Despite two more nonzero turns and both blanks, I only manage to win by 17. This was an excellent game -- reasonably well played by me and very well played by Joey.
>James: (ENO) +6 426
