#note Best play!
>Josh_Sokol: BDEEILN G8 BIELD +22 22

#note Best play!
>Josh_Sokol: EIINNTU A10 UN.NIT +30 52
>Emmett_Brosowsky: DFGHOQR C9 FRO.H +30 102
#note F6 FROG sets up QI and doesn't open a bingo -- still very close because FORTH and FROTH block high-scoring lanes #visionsad
>Josh_Sokol: CEEGIIU -EGIU +0 52
>Emmett_Brosowsky: DGILQRS B8 QI +16 118
#note Best move! It's worse than a few exchanges by equity but blocks bingos, sets up S, and has recursive value.
>Josh_Sokol: CEEIILR J7 CEIL +21 73
>Emmett_Brosowsky: CDFGLRS -CDGL +0 118
#note Exch. CDFGL is better. I held the F because of the F10 F spot if I hit an E, and also the D9 spot -- those aren't good enough, unfortunately. #strategysad
>Josh_Sokol: EIOORSW 11E OW. +27 100
>Emmett_Brosowsky: AFORRSZ D6 ZARF +26 144

>Emmett_Brosowsky: DEIORSS K2 DOSSIER +81 225
#note best play
>Josh_Sokol: EEMMNRV 3H VEN.MER +26 203
#note Small mistake here from Josh -- 14F MM is slightly better.
>Emmett_Brosowsky: ?AGIOSU 14H AGOUtIS +70 295
#note 14H OUGIyAS -- just didn't iterate through the alphabet far enough #findingsad
>Josh_Sokol: ABCEMRU H1 CA.ER +33 236
#note Quackle says Josh made a mistake here -- it's still within five points but E2 UMBRAE is better.
>Emmett_Brosowsky: ADEGLLX 14E EX +52 347
#note Most interesting position of the game is here. I spent a while considering the merits of E4 GLAD and E4 GLADE -- the X setup is beautiful and massive, and hitting an A or O with 4/5 draws seems pretty likely. It is probably pretty important for me to hold the E and only play E4 GLAD on the offchance that I miss every vowel draw. Ultimately, I chickened out and decided to take the guaranteed points. But it seems like blocking lanes to the E + scoring + setting up a SECOND X bomb outweigh the security of crushing the spot now. After the game, I pointed out the potential setup to Josh, and he said something like "that would've made the game interesting. " So there's that. #strategysad I guess.
>Josh_Sokol: ?BDMNOU N1 MO.iBUND +78 314
#note 4B UNcOMB(E)D is possibly better: quackle thinks that Josh bingos twice as often after it vs. his actual play of N1 MO(R)iBUND, but he disagrees. He also said he didn't find the play -- rather he spotted UNMOBb(E)D* but decided it wasn't right to play through the E.
>Emmett_Brosowsky: ADEGJLL E5 JADE +40 387
#note 4D JELL(E)D is better by equity but my play sims way better, so best play.
>Josh_Sokol: AAAEGNY 1L GA.Y +36 350
#note O1 AY has potential draws into 1C GYNAE(C)IA and 1C GYNAE(C)EA. Josh has to leave 1 in the bag or else I can slowplay and outrun, so the two-tile play is necessary. He mistracked and didn't see an I in the bag, nor did he consider the E spelling.
>Emmett_Brosowsky: GLLNPTY 2F PL.Y +20 407
#note 4K (S)YL(i) blank makes it hard to see ("impossible to see" per Josh) whatever it's ok #visionsadder
>Josh_Sokol: AAEEINU O7 EAU +20 370
>Emmett_Brosowsky: GLNT 6D ..G +17 424
#note 4F GL(E)N is what champ player wants but it's very close.
>Josh_Sokol: AEIN 2F ....E. +18 388
>Emmett_Brosowsky: LNT 4G L.T +9 433
>Josh_Sokol: AIN 13M AIN +12 400
>Josh_Sokol: (N) +2 402
#note ~4 mistakes in this game for a total of 25-30 points of equity loss. Again, I play one of my cleanest games ever against Josh. Great start to a tournament that did not continue well for either of us.
