>Morris_Greenberg: ?ABDENR H4 BRANDEd +74 74
>Jared_Cappel: FZ 9G F.Z +29 29
#note Did not write my rack down on this turn, just like I forgot to on the H(A)J turn in the last game. Apparently, when dumping two high scoring consonants, I don't remember to write the rack.
>Morris_Greenberg: AEEGIKL G6 KAI. +24 98
#note I switched from KIE(F) to KAI(F) because I disliked the (ED) KIEF creates. This position is very controlled right now, but a hefty 8 letter play (even simple ones like TRAVEL(ED)) make the game much more unpleasant right away. Quackle prefers KIE(F) by ~2.5%, as well as (B)AGLIKE which I considered too, but wasn't 100% on it and didn't feel the need to open right away anyways.
>Jared_Cappel: AGLNTTV 8D VAL.. +13 42
#note Was considering dropping the V to play VID setting up AVID and fishing for BATTLING/RATTLING. I missed I could also draw into GANTLET. If I had seen that, I think I would have fished. Both plays sim about the same, but the highest simming plays are exchanges (with exch TV topping the sim). Not sure about that exchange as with the lead and after an exchange 2, Morris is going to look to obstruct.
>Morris_Greenberg: CEEFGLO F4 ECO +16 114
#note I didn't consider Quackle's top 2 plays of (B)EFOG and LOC(KA)GE, I narrowed it down to FE I6, EGO and ECO F4. Ultimately, I thought obstructing the double-double seemed prudent, and I prefered the ECO D hook to the EGO S hook and parallel stacking plays with an A. This is ~2.5% behind BEFOG.
>Jared_Cappel: GNORTTW 4B WROT. +16 58
>Morris_Greenberg: ABEFGLL C3 F.AG +16 130
#note Quackle likes GA(R)BLE here more in the same spot by ~2.5% (sense a pattern?), I didn't consider it in the moment but agree it looks solid. Quackle also prefers (B)EFLAG and (R)EFLAG.
>Jared_Cappel: AGMNPRT E7 P.NGRAM +24 82
#note Didn't see (d)AMP (blank blindnesss!). My play sims second best.
>Morris_Greenberg: ABEHLLN 12D L.H +12 142
#note I liked this and BL(A)H better than opening with a play like HALL or HELL, Quackle prefers those to my play by ~2%. I thought ABELN is a pretty nice leave here and BLAH more often led to annoying fishes from Jared like AI directly underneath to set up an R hook, for instance that this is an easier path for me. Quackle prefers BLAH by ~1% to my play.
>Jared_Cappel: GIOSTTU 4H .IGOT +16 98
#note I liked holding UTS to go for OUT- 2x2s after BIGOT. Quackle slightly prefers blowing up the rack with OUTSIT at 14B.
>Morris_Greenberg: ?ABELNN C10 NABE +21 163
#note I missed N(O)BLEmAN, and thought TANNABLE was hopium rather than a real word. NE(W)B looks better here anyways though. I am 90% chance to win here, NOBLEMAN is 94%.
>Jared_Cappel: NRSSTUV J4 .UVS +16 114
#note This has got to be the right idea here. Can't hold the second S.
>Morris_Greenberg: ?CDLNRR K3 D.N +12 175
#note I somehow missed CL(O)N here, that's a bit better than everything else, this is roughly even to exchanging DLR naively, and given Jared's last play, leaves like PRST are definitely in play and I thought it seems wise to make his decisions difficult.
>Jared_Cappel: EINORST M2 OESTRIN +75 189
>Morris_Greenberg: ?CLRRTU 2I CRU +12 187
#note I am starting to get really low on clock by now (<6 minutes). Quackle prefers playing more open here with L(O)UR 2L or (H)URT F12 by ~1.5%. LOUR makes a lot of sense, it is definitely an opportune time to fork such huge lanes.
>Jared_Cappel: AAEIMWY 8K WI.EY +36 225
#note Didn't like WANEY (it's good) but that is a slight improvement. (Morris didn't like WANEY either so if he challenges, it's actually a rather large improvement).
>Morris_Greenberg: ?EIJLRT N1 JET +26 213
#note I missed (E)EJIT here, that looks better.
>Jared_Cappel: AAIMQUX 13E .AQUI +32 257
#note We post-mortemed this position for a while. Plays like MAXIM/MAXIMA are cool to set up the Q for potentially massive plays the following turn. I did not consider those plays in game. I liked the approach of shedding the Q, scoring, and holding strong (MAX) even if he bingoes right away.
>Morris_Greenberg: ?EILLNR H12 N.LL +15 228
#note I missed L(I)pLINER and m(I)LLINER here
>Jared_Cappel: AHIMPSX 14F MI. +36 293
#note Thought this was a mistake but it sims well. I did not see 14D ASH which sims the slightest bit better. Putting the A at 14D is usually ill-advised, but I'd be holding the M and X for potential huge plays the following turn. Only the Y was unseen to allow Morris huge plays after ASH and with my lead I'm more afraid of bingos from him than scoring plays.
>Morris_Greenberg: ?EEIORT 15H .OITEREd +74 302
>Jared_Cappel: AAEHPSX 14J HAP +35 328
#note Morris suggested holding off the P here, and Quackle agrees. There are three Es left to hit a play like APEXES. I was thinking points, but this is a clear mistake. I did see my homeless bingo of HAPAXES.
>Morris_Greenberg: EEIOSUY 1N .O +27 329
#note OS is the play I need to make here, 9 extra points definitely add a lot here. Additionally, we had both Jared and I with 2 more points here (overscored VAL(ID) by 4, overscored F(R)AG by 2, and underscored HAP by 2).
>Jared_Cappel: ADEIOSX 15A DOXIES +54 382
#note Right after I hit the clock I was upset with myself for not playing OXIDES. It scores more, but most importantly, it slots the O not the D in the A column, to avoid counter bingos that would cost me the game. There were no counter bingos available but as I had mistracked I didn't know this for sure. And once again, I saw I had a homeless bingo (OXIDASE). If I drew like I did in this set every day, I'd be a very happy man.
>Morris_Greenberg: EEIOSUY N11 YOUS. +16 345
#note YEO(W) B1.
>Jared_Cappel: ADET 10H .ATED +18 400
#note Tough break for Morris going 0-4 in this set, as he played rather well. Looking forward to our next set!
