>Jared_Cappel: AAAFNTV 8F FAVA +20 20
#note Quackle wants me to play this at 8G to avoid the vowels next to multipliers. I was more focused on S hooks, which is not the right idea. I always do this and need to stop doing this.
>Morris_Greenberg: DGNRSST G7 D.NG +9 9
#note The S's become super valuable in this position. Quackle agrees with this choice.
>Jared_Cappel: HJ I7 H.J +25 45
#note Did not write down my rack here.
>Morris_Greenberg: BNRSSTZ -BNRT +0 9
#note My logic was the two paths here are either to maximize immediate bingo chances or try scoring first and then bingoing. RST is the standard bingoing path, and I thought SSZ is the best scoring path as the Z will likely require an S to be usedd to maximum potential, and the other S will serve useful for the remaining S hook on the board. Quackle agrees that these are the top two paths for these two separate strategies. It prefers the bingoing path here by ~1.5% (and prefers a few other bingo-ey leaves like RSST, SST, NST, ST, and RS ahead of SSZ too), but I think stylistically, this path fits me better here. Also, since this was a casual set and Jared killed me in the first 2 games, I showed him this rack before I exchanged, so there is a bit of meta-game too here.
>Jared_Cappel: AIKNORT F6 KI. +23 68
#note I thought Morris had kept RST on his exchange (that's what I would have kept despite the ZAS possibility with drawing an A). Later in the game, the more he coffeehoused, the more I realized he had kept SSZ...back to this turn, I was debating between KIF and OKRA but I did not want to open things up after OKRA with him having such strong tiles. For some reason, I did not consider simply playing OK and holding TRAIN. Morris also suggested IKON which looks strong, although that's not how I'd usually play these positions. I still don't mind my decision to keep things tighter, but this seems imprecise. OK is probably best but open to thoughts from others on this.
>Morris_Greenberg: IPSSUYZ J6 PIS +27 36
#note I thought YUPS 11D was invalid, that looks better here. I chose this over ZIPS 11D, Quackle likes them roughly equally.
>Jared_Cappel: AINORRT E5 TOR +16 84
#note Still trying to keep things tight and setting up ARID plays while leaving stronger this turn. If I had seen GRIOT though I would have probably played that. He already has the DANG S hook anyway and GRIOT also kills 2x2's he could have.
>Morris_Greenberg: CNSTUYZ 6J .UNTY +18 54
>Jared_Cappel: AIMNNOR - +0 84
#note This is bad, even for me. I hated PUNTIER* but didn't consider PUNTIES. As soon as he put the tiles down I was hellbent on challenging. It just looked awful to me.
>Morris_Greenberg: BBCCDSZ K5 C.D +19 73
#note I was a bit frustrated to draw BBCD here. Quackle agrees with this play over exchanging or playing B(U)D (with 2 B's, _ _ BB(Y) plays are available, and this also creates another S lane).
>Jared_Cappel: AIMNNOR 10I IRONMAN +77 161
#note Also, I did not see that I had a bingo until after challenging PUNTY. And until annotating the game now, I did not see the IRID hook. That placement is better.
>Morris_Greenberg: ABBCISZ O8 ZI.C +45 118
#note I autopiloted this, I didn't even think about that CABB(Y) gives S(CABBY) as an option! I would've definitely considered playing that if I thought about it. Quackle says they are roughly even.
>Jared_Cappel: AEMSY 12K SEAMY +51 212
>Morris_Greenberg: ?ABBNPS K9 B.B. +16 134
#note I disliked closing this area of the board, but nothing else comes close in terms of equity. Quackle agrees.
>Jared_Cappel: ?AEGOSW D6 WAGSOmE +89 301
#note Saw WAGSOME, TOWAGES and COWAGES, all of the bingos. Smartly used more clock to find the best bingo, as I saw the latter two first.
>Morris_Greenberg: ?ANPRSU - +0 134
#note I was fairly sure it was good but thought (correctly in the end) only one of WAGSOME and WAGSOMER* were good, and figured that even if I am only 80-90% on it, I need to challenge here to have a chance winning this game (I knew there was a word where only the 8 with the hook is good - I realized after it is RAWBONED with RAWBONE* being phony).
>Jared_Cappel: AEEILOT M2 OLEA.E +14 315
>Morris_Greenberg: ?ANPRSU 13A UNwRAPS +79 213
#note I figure now my best chance is to play something that is challenge-able and gain a turn back in the off-chance it is good.
>Jared_Cappel: DEIIRTT A12 D.IT +21 336
#note I saw DITTY at N2, but with the Q out, this 3x3 lane is too dangerous. For what it's worth, I didn't challenge WAGSOMER* because I thought it was good, not because of the game situation.
>Morris_Greenberg: EEGLUUV 8A VUG. +27 240
>Jared_Cappel: AADEIRT 14F AIRDATE +70 406
>Morris_Greenberg: EEFIILU 15L FILE +42 282
#note Keeping the U for the Q possibilities.
>Jared_Cappel: EEEEIOR 15G REE +21 427
>Morris_Greenberg: EILQTUW N2 WIT +26 308
#note My logic here was to play a tile at L2 the next turn if I get close to a bingo with the Q next turn (like RELIQUE).
>Jared_Cappel: EEINOOX E9 OXO +33 460
>Morris_Greenberg: EHLOQRU 2L H..L +10 318
>Jared_Cappel: EEEILNT 1G LENITE +27 487
#note I mistracked all four of the games so didn't know if I was giving a QI play after this. But with the score it didn't matter. The best sequence starts with ELITE not LENITE.
