#note considered phonying here since I hit so many 8s (DHLMOPST) - not so much downside to phonying, and it can give me useful information about whether I can phony later on. I didnt see a phony I loved here, and since passing is still worse than OMEGA in a sim, I shouldn't phony if it's a really dumb word. since OMEGA is a board opening play, I end up bingoing close to as much after OMEGA as after passing.

#note chose wrong here it seems - D? was my first thought, D being an important tile to hit the J column, but figured the T would help as a standardly good bingo tile, even if DT? is a bit clunky. A sim says D? bingoes a touch more than DT?, which makes it a firmly better exchange, by around 2.5 points in a sim.

#note tough turn, and tough to read a play like COT - realistically I should not adjust too much for range here, but it occurred to me she could have the J a portion of the time, and also letting her hit COTE is not a great idea. VET was the main other option I considered, but the O hook could prove more annoying than the marginal A and D columns I am opening with DEV, plus if she does have the J it keeps JIVE possibilities (or just keeps that option alive for the future as something to worry about). DEV wins a sim by around 4 points, and I think accomplishes similar things for reducing variance

#note chose the A column bingo that seemed the most likely to be challenged - she held but accepted

#note did not see GOALIES or LOCALISE or GALLIES. This is a position that could warrant a spread play, and LOCALISE seems to be that, but I would not have been positive of the hooks and that could be troublesome. COLLIES seems fine

#note nice phony by Tina! I was about 90% sure this was phony, and maybe it's worth it to start playing for spread a bit more, especially in a tournament like Gananoque where spread is likely to matter. Still, the best solution is to know the damn words
>Jackson: EEEFILU 1J .EFILE +42 313
#note was not positive of DEFUEL, which is ofc a better version of this

#note didnt see ENOUGH, but with a dearth of Es I like keepoing one. (T)OU(C)H might be a better version of this play
