>Femi_Awowade: BCKU 8E BUCK +24 24
>Harshan: AEEIOPR I8 OE +16 16
#note Best on sim. Forks the board, maximises bingo %, and doesn't give much back.
>Femi_Awowade: EIW G6 WI.E +11 35
>Harshan: AEIIPRU F2 RUPIA +18 34
#note Yucky IU draw to PAIRE. Vowel heavy leaves like PAIRE are vulnerable to 1 or 2 vowel draws. Easy to tilt in this situation, but need to maintain composure and optimise equity. PAIRE in same spot leaves the horrible IU, and is not worth the extra 4 points. Saw and correctly turned down EURIPI.
>Femi_Awowade: ?DEGIIM 4D IM.EDInG +80 115
>Harshan: AAEIISW H1 WAI.E +27 61
#note Best. Very close to WAID in same spot. Bingo % is actually higher keeping AEIS to AIS, but I preferred the 3 extra points and a more balanced vowel/consonant leave with 8 E's unseen. AEIS is 3 points better than AIS on a static evaluation.
>Femi_Awowade: OY E4 .OY +29 144
>Harshan: AEILNOS K4 .ASOLINE +86 147
#note Best. Delighted that preferring AIS to AEIS worked out well.
>Femi_Awowade: EOYZ L9 OYEZ +41 185
>Harshan: DGLORTT 7I GO.LD +17 164
#note Best. Considered M11 LORD for 24, but hated the GTT leave., and opening the bottom row., with 3 S's and 1 blank unseen. High probability of an eventual -S ending bonus hooking GOOLD-S.
>Femi_Awowade: HORT E8 .ROTH +20 205
>Harshan: BFNQRTT -BFNQT +0 164
#note Horrible all consonant draw to RTT. Take deep breath, and focus on making the correct exchange. Bingo % is highest keeping RT, but leaves of R and exchanging 7 very close due to consonant heavy tile pool, with 3 T's and 3 R's unseen
>Femi_Awowade: IX F10 XI +52 257
>Harshan: AINRSTT 13B STRAINT +77 241
#note Preferred STRAINT to TRANSIT to avoid leaving an I at H13, above TWS. Sim agrees
>Femi_Awowade: DEEHNT H10 HET.ED +33 290
>Femi_Awowade: DEEHNT -- -33 257
#note Knew this was no good from studying the pure 6's.
>Harshan: AABCORR B6 CARBORA. +70 311
>Harshan: ?AEEFOT (challenge) +5 316
#note Little did I know that the extra 5 points from the unsuccessful challenge would be useful later.
>Femi_Awowade: DEENT H10 NET.ED +24 281
>Harshan: ?AEEFOT 15A FOvEATE. +86 402
#note Saw FOrEDATE immediately. Very pleased to have maintained composure and taken the extra time to spot the much better FOvEATED. This proved crucial later. Errors due to impulsive decision making in Scrabble are equally likely due to euphoria or despondency.
>Femi_Awowade: HU D9 UH +20 301
>Harshan: EFLPRTV J11 PERV +22 424
#note A huge mistake, which nearly backfired spectacularly. It would have been better to conserve the E (12 consonants to 5 vowels in the unseen pool), and draw fewer tiles of dross from the bag. I wanted to play 4 tiles to stop Femi bonusing twice and wanted him to draw 6 tiles of rubbish if he bonused immediately. However, two consecutive bingoes from this tile pool highly unlikely.

Nigelian heuristics in this situation would be: "what is the most likely sequence which will result in me losing this game? Answer: "I draw an all consonant rack including the Q, and my opponent bonuses immediately and outruns me in the endgame, or bonuses out with a massive countback. I need to conserve my only vowel, minimise the number of tiles played and optimise pre-endgame timing to mitigate this"
>Femi_Awowade: ADEIMNS N1 MAIDENS +82 383
>Harshan: FJLLNTV 3M J.N +20 444
#note Worse case scenario materialises. Needed to maintain composure to spot the winning endgame sequence, to just outrun Femi's beautiful out in 2.
>Femi_Awowade: AGNQSU M11 NAG +25 408
>Harshan: FLLTV I3 F.L +21 465
#note Phew! A 6 point win (1 point without the challenge) requiring finding an ideal endgame sequence after trailing by 83, and then leading by 121. This game illustrates the beauty, volatility, unpredictability and cognitive/psychological challenges of competitive Scrabble.
>Femi_Awowade: QSU N12 SUQ +39 447
>Femi_Awowade: (LTV) +12 459
#note A 6 point win (1 point without the challenge) requiring finding an ideal endgame sequence after trailing by 83, and then leading by 121. This game illuistrates the extent to which high level Scrabble is cognitively and emotionally taxing, volatile and unpredictable.
