#player1 Vincent_Van_Dover Vincent Van Dover
#player2 Jonathan_Lindh Jonathan Lindh
>Vincent_Van_Dover: CEO 8H ECO +10 10
#note November 2023 WGPO Madison Tournament. Game 15.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AADFIKL G6 KADI +18 18
#note I like 7F KAF for 16 in retrospect, but KADI is very solid. KADI is about a 3-4 point mistake and within 2% win chances of KAF.
>Vincent_Van_Dover: ORTZ J6 TR.OZ +36 46
>Jonathan_Lindh: AAEEFLX K9 FAX +42 60
#note Best.
>Vincent_Van_Dover: EGINRST F9 STINGER +64 110
#note H7 GENTRIES is 65 and best because it gives back fewer points. STINGER is 2nd best.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AAEEFLU 15D FA.LE +36 96
#note 15D FERULAE for 42 seems best, but it does give back big J14 plays. I probably have to take that chance. FARLE is #5.
>Vincent_Van_Dover: INORY L11 IRONY +33 143
>Jonathan_Lindh: AEGJRSU 14J JA.ES +56 152
#note Best.
>Vincent_Van_Dover: ?BBEORW 11A WOBBl.ER +78 221
#note Best. N7 SWOBBERS and WOBBLERS are the other bingos.
>Jonathan_Lindh: GPRRSTU A11 .URST +27 179
#note Agonizing choice here. Quackle likes C11 BURG for 14, probably for the leave, but then Vincent probably scores a bunch through the W. WURST seems to score the most and sets up some weird WURST extensions (spoiler alert). I also considered B10 GORP and GORPS, both of which sim slightly better than WURST.
>Vincent_Van_Dover: HP 13K P.H +30 251
>Jonathan_Lindh: ACGOPRU F2 GUACO +22 201
#note Really liked this play. Opens the board and disposes of all of my bad tiles in one swoop.
>Vincent_Van_Dover: EEITV H2 EVITE +16 267
>Jonathan_Lindh: ELMNOPR 4H .MPONE +20 221
#note My first missed bingo of the tournament. 4B PROLAMINE for 76. I'm not sure I knew the word, even though I knew its cousin PROLAMIN. There are many ways I can still lose the game after this, and I'm not even 50% to win after PROLAMINE, but it gives me a fighting chance.
>Vincent_Van_Dover: DEENQU M2 QU.ENED +36 303
>Jonathan_Lindh: EILLRTV N1 LIT +30 251
#note Here comes the WURST extension fun! I saw the 9 variants of WURST (JAGDWURST, etc), but I didn't know the 10 letter ones. CURRYWURST* isn't even a word yet in Scrabble despite being thing. LIT is one of the best NORMAL* plays but LIVERWURST is by far the best. And I missed LIVERWURST in a Wisconsin tournament nonetheless!
>Vincent_Van_Dover: OW 8M .OW +21 324
>Jonathan_Lindh: DEILRVY 13C RID.Y +28 279
#note Still LIVERWURST. RIDGY is one of the best normal plays.
>Vincent_Van_Dover: IS O1 IS +24 348
>Jonathan_Lindh: AEEILNV B7 LAEV. +16 295
#note What's spread anyway? Go for the win! LAEVO is the 2nd best play behind 2A LAVING for 20.
>Vincent_Van_Dover: ADGHILO C1 HIDALGO +79 427
#note LAVING would have worked out marginally better, but I still probably lose. I held HIDALGO, but wisely realized it hadn't left the dictionary.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AAEINNU D2 NANA +19 314
#note I didn't even pick up a blank! NANA is best.
>Vincent_Van_Dover: ?MT 8A M.sT +30 457
#note Best. Scored as 27.
>Vincent_Van_Dover: (IEU) +6 463
#note Score recorded as 460-314. If you can find a disconnected 9 PROLAMINE or LIVERWURST, more power to you.
