>Carl_Voss: EFNOTUV - +0 0
#note November 2023 WGPO Madison Tournament. Game 8. Exchange 7. Not actual rack.
>Jonathan_Lindh: DEIJLOY 8D JOYED +48 48
#note Best.
>Carl_Voss: EY 7G YE +21 21
>Jonathan_Lindh: AHILOWZ 6F ZA +37 85
#note I am no WIZ for missing I5 WIZ and I4 WHIZ.
>Carl_Voss: FIU D6 FU.I +14 35
>Jonathan_Lindh: EHILOWW C9 HELIO +33 118
#note I5 WOW for 26 is best. HELIO is about #3.
>Carl_Voss: DIPR D12 DRIP +28 63
>Jonathan_Lindh: BEEGSWW B10 WEB +37 155
#note Best.
>Carl_Voss: EFILTU A5 FUTILE +33 96
#note Scored as 35.
>Jonathan_Lindh: EGMQRSW 15D .ERMS +27 182
#note Maybe I4 GREW, but grew worried about triple triples.
>Carl_Voss: AGINPRS 9H SPARING +68 164
>Jonathan_Lindh: GLOOQRW L8 Q. +21 203
#note Maybe I4 GLOW for 25?
>Carl_Voss: AIU 8L .UAI +44 208
#note Unlucky.
>Jonathan_Lindh: GLOORSW I4 GLOW +25 228
#note Possibly 10I OW for 30? Not sure.
>Carl_Voss: AENOV H1 NOVAE +33 241
#note Scored as 35.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AAEOORS -AOO +0 228
#note 3G OOSPERMS for 36 is amazing! Didn't see that. Exch. AOO is still perfectly reasonable, though.
>Carl_Voss: ?AENRTT 14H ENTRAnT +68 309
#note None of saw 4D TERMAGANT for 86 or 3F TEVATRON for 84. I knew TEVATRON, but I would have held TERMAGANT. I'm 50-50 whether I would challenge. Good 9 to know for the future. M2 TRANSEUNT for 68 is the other playable 9.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AEIINRS 1A SIRENIA. +77 305
#note Best.
>Carl_Voss: ACNNO C3 CANON +24 333
#note Good play to take out one of the X bombs and play a lot of tiles to go for the X.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?AEEIKO 15M OAK +24 329
#note Unsure.
>Carl_Voss: COT J8 T.CO +12 345
#note Carl clearly does not have the X when he played TACO, but what if he picked it up after TACO?
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?EEGHIM E11 MEG +23 352
#note I considered fishing the G to go for HERMITAGE on the N column but correctly decided it wasn't worth it. MEG is about #5, but I need to find 11E HEGEMON for 48. That seems worth it.
>Carl_Voss: DOT F10 DOT +20 365
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?DEHIVX J2 VIED +24 376
#note What a nerve racking play. I correctly saw I needed to block column 2 as they were quite a few racks that only fit there. However 2H OXHIDES was 50 was my play. I looked hard for plays burning the blank for 40+, but couldn't find OXHIDEs.
>Carl_Voss: ABELRST 12J STABLE +25 390
#note Actual rack. I blocked SORTABLE, but Carl had STORABLE and BLOATERS so in theory I wasn't winning.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?HUX O11 H.X +13 389
#note A few plays like H11 HEXES for 14 are 1 more point but nothing wins.
>Carl_Voss: R 4G R... +5 395
#note Best along with 11E MOR and 4H AGER.
>Carl_Voss: (U?) +2 397
#note Final score recorded as 401-389. I may have been able to win this game if I did a few things differently, but not a badly played game by any means.
