#note did not see THOLING, and VAULT/THOLING is nice to fully exhaust the top of the board, but I do like keeping the A with MT here for flexibilty on a really open board, it is important to not get stuck with a bad rack any turn

#note not gonna lie, I did see JEHAD and part of the reason I did not play it was that a sweet elderly couple sat right next to us in food court and started intently watching the game, and I felt like now was not the best time to play JEHAD. I think JEHAD is a better play, but HAJ has a lot of merit to not make as good a lane on the 15 row, keep a much more flexible leave for countering any options, or even bingoing and ending the game immediately. Still, let's call this a mistake
>Josh_Sokol-Rubenstein: ELNOPRT M5 T.RP.NEOL +74 398
#note beautiful! 6 odd years ago Josh played a phony out of this rack on me in Albany, and now his redemption arc is complete
>Jackson: ADEFGMT 11J FAM.D +31 436
#note hated everything here, EGT is not the type of leave I want here, it is only the E that is nice to keep with only one left, and the T is case so that doesn't hurt, but still the T is not the type of tile I want here, since it is not great for scoring and pairs badly with the G. Still, it's good to keep scoring pressure on and hope to draw one of the bigger tiles in the pool, which should let this 30-40 point lead stay alive
>Josh_Sokol-Rubenstein: DIIKRSY 14K RISKY +36 434
#note KIDDY 10b is a cool idea neither of us saw in postgame analysis - sets up SKIDDY, and keeps some bingo threats alive. DIRTY has some merit too, which Josh considered, but his tempo disadvantage makes this position call for something a bit more aggressive. RISKY is good cause he keeps a D for the 15 row spot if he draws an E, and generally makes more threats. I think KIDDY is probably too good to pass up though, it sims very well.
>Jackson: EEGNPTW O13 G.P +27 463
#note think I prefer leaving 2 in the bag here, out in twos with one in the bag are a threat he could have after something like WEP(T). GYP is champ's pref, I like it over WYE because the vowels are really flexible for out in twos in an endgame, even though the W is not the best. Still, I get TWEEN as a threat at a minimum. WEPT lets him do stuff like DOOZIE and is a bit closer.

#note fishing for BIOCIDES
>Jackson: AEENTWZ C7 W.TE +30 493
#note Another small thing I liked about GYP was holding the WYTE setup in case I draw the Z - it wasn't a big deal since if I draw the Z i am a big favourite anyway (case in point, here I have a ton of 100% wins), but it was still a good safety blanket.
