>Jared_Cappel: ADEEKT 8G TEAKED +26 26
#note MG: I can't believe I didn't even hold this. Nice phony. JC: I thought wood words take -ED, but clearly not all.
>Morris_Greenberg: DEIMORS H8 .MEROIDS +86 86
>Jared_Cappel: AERTUWY 12H .UTWEARY +86 112
>Morris_Greenberg: ACEIJVW O8 JIVE. +54 140
>Jared_Cappel: ?DENORT 15A pORTEND. +77 189
#note I missed MORDENTS for three more points. I thought about RONDLETS* which Morris said he would have accepted but I correctly deduced it was invalid. I held JIVEY for awhile but eventually I realized it was good.
>Morris_Greenberg: ACCFLOW B10 FLOCC. +42 182
>Morris_Greenberg: ACCFLOW -- -42 140
#note I thought this was good, confusing it with FLOCC(ED) and FLOCC(I), the latter of which was available. Jared held this for awhile before he challenged, it turns out he didn't remember any of the FLOCC* words but was wondering why I would pull this out of thin air.
>Jared_Cappel: ABEGHIO 7I BOHEA +35 224
#note We were watching football during this set, and FLOCCO* sounded too much like Joe Flacco. I figured I would have remembered such a similar word, but I didn't remember FLOCCI or others. I used a lot of clock which would come back to bite me as my brain was moving very slowly on this day....as for my play, I missed OBEAH at 14A with 5 overlaps.
>Morris_Greenberg: ACCFLOW 6H COW +39 179
#note I considered CLAW 6G as well and whether it was worth it to allow for (C)A(T) -> S(CAT) or (C)O(T) -> S(COT) sequences (where leaving just the C makes the top portion of the board less accessible immediately. I ultimately felt like there was a lot of opportunity to develop the board naturally anyways, and it would be annoying to deal with CAT or COT sequences later on in the game if I do get ahead. Quackle agrees, though prefers FLOW to both plays, which makes me think it isn't picking up on the strategic nuances here.
>Jared_Cappel: ?EFGGIR D8 EGGFRuI. +76 300
#note I joked that I should play FROGGIER assuming it was a phony but that is good too.
>Morris_Greenberg: ACEFLNN 8A FAN. +21 200
#note I wanted to not allow Jared to dictate how this part of the board is shaped here, though 4 extra points for NA(I)F is a lot.
>Jared_Cappel: EIILOOP 9B LO.OI +12 312
#note Used a lot of clock here, but finally found this highest simming play.
>Morris_Greenberg: AACEHLN 14B LA.N +16 216
#note I wanted to keep the CH here to allow for opening the top part of the board with high pointers (and the C specifically could make it hard for Jared to shut down everything at once as a response due to inability to parallel). Quackle prefers a more standard equity play like AH 11K but I stand by this against a good human player.
>Jared_Cappel: EILNPTT 6M TIP +9 321
#note I decided to go with TIP instead of PIT to prevent Morris from making plays to the triple, but Morris pointed out after TA sets up ETA to fish for things like SETA. In game I missed the ETA to SETA hook as brain was not working.....the SIM says forget fishing and play H1 LENTIC (if I knew that word, maybe I'd have considered it)
>Morris_Greenberg: ABCEHIL 5K BLEH +26 242
>Morris_Greenberg: ABCEHIL -- -26 216
#note I missed HELIA(C) and CELIA(C) here, really bad misses (on top of playing this terrible phony, great challenge by Jared).
>Jared_Cappel: EILNNST K10 NE.T +14 335
#note LINIEST 13G is nice! Or LENTIC again. This is fine though.
>Morris_Greenberg: ABCEHIL G13 BI. +19 235
#note Same misses.
>Jared_Cappel: ILNSTYZ M11 Z.NY +32 367
#note LAZY feels like a small improvement.
>Morris_Greenberg: ACEHLRX B2 EXARCH.. +52 287
>Jared_Cappel: ILOSTUV - +0 367
#note Phenomenal find by Morris! I knew I would never challenge this in a tourney with this score, but I felt like WTF let's see if this is good. The start of the end in this game....I should have just played UT or TIL overlapping the X.
>Morris_Greenberg: AEGILQR C2 RIG +31 318
#note With 3 U's out, I figured keeping the Q here is fine, especially in miracle scenarios where I do get a high scoring Q bingo. GLIA C1 is Quackle's preferred execution of this.
>Jared_Cappel: ILOSTUV 4A V..I +24 391
>Morris_Greenberg: AADELQU 11D .AD +14 332
#note I am now going for PLAQUES 1C, though AQUA 5K might be too much to pass up here. I had under 2 minutes left here, definitely not a lot of time to figure out an 8 in the bag situation.
>Jared_Cappel: LMOSSTU N14 OM +18 409
#note I was really low on clock and really low on sleep. Bad combo. I saw there was one P out for PRIG and my first thought was TOM/TRIG but I thought it might get outrun For some reason I thought the score was closer. Maybe just TO/TRIG doesn't really leave any bingo lanes available. Playing 5 tiles not giving him a chance to fish sims best. LOTUS/SCOW wins 95%.
>Morris_Greenberg: AEELQSU M5 E.. +3 335
#note I insta-play this given my time. Now PLAQUES 1C or SQUEALS 4G are both worth over 100, and if Jared doesn't empty I might have multiple chances to do so.
>Jared_Cappel: LNSSTU O14 NU +24 433
#note As noted earlier, I did not see the ETA to SETA hook, even after post morteming for a few minutes, which makes it extra bad I didn't take out the PRIG spot. I blame it on staying out late the night before. But sometimes in tourneys you have to run on little sleep so this isn't a good enough excuse.
>Morris_Greenberg: AELPQSU 1C PLAQUES +114 449
>Jared_Cappel: AILOSST 2E LIST +25 458
#note Jared went over on time here (he burned a lot of time debating FLOCCO* early on), and once he went over, he looked for nonexistent bingos for 2 extra minutes beyond that. Final score 459-428.....JC: I had wins with LOIASIS or AIOLIS at N1/N2. Could not manage to find them. A truly horrific collapse by me but props to Morris on a great comeback.
>Morris_Greenberg: U 10J U. +4 453
