#player1 Esther Esther Perrins
#player2 Edward Edward Okulicz
>Esther: AOTU 8E AUTO +8 8
#note Context: Last game of the 2023 Australian Masters. I am one game and a small amount of spread clear of Naween Fernando. If I beat Esther, or Naween loses to Cameron Farlow, I take the title. Neither, and Naween takes it.
>Edward: EEIISTZ 9D ZITE +21 21
#note Tough choice, this isn't too bad
>Esther: AGINSTX 10E TAXINGS +89 97
#note hm, in hindsight.
>Edward: EEEFISV K8 VI.E +14 35
#note Kind of a nothing move but I didn't feel like FIVES/AITS was a good idea.
>Esther: DERW 12K DREW +25 122
>Edward: EEEFNSU H10 .NFUSE +39 74
#note EENS is a good combo, that explains why 13M FEU overcomes 12 points and then some.
>Esther: GOW 13M WOG +29 151
>Edward: ?AENNRU 15H .NAUNtER +74 148
>Esther: IOPT 14F PO.IT +21 172
>Edward: AADEHNT 13G D.H +28 176
#note prob taking the "vowels are good now!" thing a bit seriously but DUH is only 2 points worse than VANDA, and level with VANED
>Esther: BIJ 7H JIB +22 194
>Edward: AAEEITT 8J A.IATE +34 210
#note yay I made an optimal move, don't get used to it
>Esther: AQ N6 QA. +32 226
>Edward: EEEINOT I9 E.E +6 216
#note 6J OE or O5 EINE apparently, but I just didn't like how they set up for things I didn't have. But I can't argue, ENE is 5 points back. I guess I liked the idea of getting an -ITE or-INE bing but this sucks
>Esther: PV M7 P.V +22 248
#note Underscored as 20
>Edward: DEINOTY O5 YIT. +23 239
#note yeah, sure, be a wimp - OY/OBA if you're feeling bold, or DOY/DI/OBA if you're not both seem better
>Esther: LMOY 6I MOYL +22 270
>Edward: DDENNOS K2 NODD. +20 259
>Esther: CFKR 3I FR.CK +36 306
>Edward: EELNORS 14N RE +22 281
#note Don't see how it ever wins, but RE does come out best, winning about 19% of games.
>Esther: ?ABEGRU 4C AUBeRGE +77 383
>Edward: ELNORSS C2 LO.N +8 289
#note Hopeless position but LOAN beats the pants off anything Quackle suggested, wins 7% of the time - I guess if Esther has a rack of 1 pointers, and I pick something like COSHERS and go out and catch her with the M or something? But surely a vertical play would work to clock both lines... but this does give me a good shot at a spread-reducing outplay bingo, which would mean Naween would have to beat Cameron by more points than just falling over the line.
>Esther: AEM L1 MA.E +30 413
>Edward: CEIORSS 1A COSIERS +85 374
#note Naween and Cameron had an agonisingly close game decided by Cameron squeezing in a bonus on the last turn, but prior to that it looked like it might be decided by under 30 points, so my outplay bonus could have been very helpful.
