#note the other placement is a bit more standard to muck things up. I went for a more open option

#note I didnt write my racks a few turns, but I made a big sacrifice to keep a less variant leave and block a ton of bingoes, longterm as well this forces him to make sacrifices later to open things up. This loses in a sim but I think I like it
>Eric_Goldstein: AEIKLNS 1L .LAK +33 79
#note actual rack - although I blocked ALKINES, he still has LEAKINESS and ALIKENESS here
>Jackson: DEIRSUY J2 RID.Y +32 134
#note pretty sure this was the rack

>Eric_Goldstein: DIO M1 .IDO +20 99
>Jackson: EOQSUWY F6 YOW +26 160
#note YEW is a cool idea that wins a sim with no rack implied. Sets up SUQ and blocks some bingoes, but YOWW makes more sense if he has an S more often than average after LIDO
>Eric_Goldstein: EENRSTT E8 TENTERS +71 170
>Jackson: AEOQSUV 13B QUA.E +28 188
#note This was badly executed - OSV is not a good enough leave to make a play like QUARE, the setup doesn't pay off enugh. QUA/AY keeps a much better EOSV, but OVA in the same spot sims well as well, setting up QU plays and keeping a much better leave. SQUARE probably won't stay open longterm anyways. QUA, SUQ, VO(E) and OVA all sim about identically

#note I strongly considered exchanging here, and it is probably best optimally. I would keep just the T, to maximize odds of drawing S? but also cause there are none in the bag, so it works very well. Bingoes far more than any other exchange. EVICT easily gets burned by bingoes, but I felt like this was a position where I might be better off than normal taking a more measured approach, trying to outrun bingoes slowly but surely. I usually would exchange here down to T.
>Eric_Goldstein: INN C5 INN +6 307
>Jackson: AAADFRV O1 .AVA +12 345
#note I should probably do VARNA here, I probably missed it. Better to try and inch my way towards outrunning here, though KAVA blocks quite a few more bingoes. Enough space/marginal lanes open that it's better to go for outrunning longterm
>Eric_Goldstein: CEH H12 .ECH +33 340
>Jackson: ABDDFNR -ABDDFR +0 345
#note It is time to abandon ship. Although keeping ADR or ADN bingo slightly more here, it is important to reach for the blank and also to fill the bag with meh tiles like these for Eric to draw. Exchanging 7 is tempting to do these two goals fully, but the N works so well with the pool plus the marginal N column lane that I felt it was worth keeping. Quackle suggests I may have overestimated the N here, it is true I bingo more but only jumps from 30% to 35%, so perhaps tossing all 7 is correct to maximize blank draws, which will hugely determine this game going forward.
>Eric_Goldstein: BEILMRU 2L ..M. +20 360
#note actual rack. I like this play a lot - now that I reached for the blank, Eric should be trying to counter bingo if I bingo, which will likely win him the game. This hits the D for BUILDER, which will often play if I bingo on the 14/15 row
>Jackson: ?AEINSW N4 NAW +18 363
#note Interesting position here - before playing LIMA, Eric put a couple plays on the board that ended up giving me a lot of information about his rack, so I knew he had BELRU with LIMA. normally, SHERWANI would be good, cause the pool isn't great for bingoes, so I take my high chances that he doesn't bingo out and win every other time. however, knowing his rack, plus LIMA being a fish anyways, SHERWANI does a lot worse cause of RUBBLIER and BLURRIER, which he hits quite often. I think I am better off playing SAW or NAW here, bingoing very often next turn in a way that will offer fewer bingoes to Eric. Maybe (C)AW, full aggression, is fine here, even hitting N column bingoes a ton of the time (the blank being one of MNTV can really help bingo chances), but I preferred an approach that put pressure on number of tiles in the bag (he can only play 2 tiles after NAW), plus EIS? Working very well with all the consonants in the bag.
