#player2 Joshua_Sokol Joshua Sokol
>Jonathan_Lindh: AINORTT -T +0 0
#note Context. Chloe was gibsonized. Josh was in 2nd. I was in 3rd. If I win, I probably get 2nd. However, if I lose, I probably drop to 5th place and out of the money. Guess what happened? I agonized over this play on the car ride back to LaGuardia but this is reasonable. It's a tossup between 8G TO, exch. T, and exch. TO. Quackle has my play 2nd narrowly behind TO. Perfectly reasonable play.
>Joshua_Sokol: EHPSSWY H6 WHY +24 24
#note Why did Josh have to have the perfect counter to my exchange 1? Josh was one step ahead of me the whole game.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AINORTU 8H .OU +6 6
#note No clue here. YOU seems reasonable. Hopefully, Josh does not have an R or an S.
>Joshua_Sokol: BEPSSUX K5 PUBS +23 47
#note Josh has an S!
>Jonathan_Lindh: ACINNRT 6J C.RN +12 18
>Joshua_Sokol: AEESTXZ N2 ZAXES +55 102
#note I was not expecting this.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AINQRT O1 QAT +49 67
#note Partial rack here. L1 QINTAR for 54 may have been better if this rack is accurate.
>Joshua_Sokol: ADEEIPT L4 AE.IE +29 131
#note actually doubted PEAN for a bit. Thought there was one of PEEN and PEAN that was wrong and it was only NEAP or NEEP, and I knew PEEN was good. I might be thinking of NEEM? Either way, really bad to question 4s a couple of times in 14 games. That should not happen. Quackle obviously likes PEAN or DEARIE here, but I wanted to give nothing back. Really liked the way this board was shaping up. #questionable
>Jonathan_Lindh: ADFINOR 3L FR.. +23 90
#note Why not FIAT?
>Joshua_Sokol: DIPRSTT 7G P.T +15 146
#note this is looking awesome
>Jonathan_Lindh: ADINNOT 6D INDO. +17 107
#note Best. This play started my attempted comeback.
>Joshua_Sokol: ADIRSTV 5B VITA +20 166
#note could do VIRID or AVID or VIA(N)D as well. This allows annoyances on the B column, but has better overall defense than the others, since it doesn't require a board-opening play or an unlikely V bingo. #questionable
>Jonathan_Lindh: AEMNRTU J8 .NMATURE +68 175
>Jonathan_Lindh: AEMNRTU -- -68 107
#note Josh blocked RUIMNATE, so I decided to instaplay UNMATURE* Josh took a few minutes before challenging it off. If it had stayed on, I would have had INFOLDER through the E of UNMATURE and would have been in the driver's seat.
>Joshua_Sokol: CDGKRSV E4 V..G +8 174
#note Uh oh. I know Josh's playing style, and this is a blatant S setup.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AEMNRTU I7 ..M +8 115
#note I then fish off my M to create a bingo lane Josh might not be able to block without burning his S and to give him pause at using his VANGS setup because it might give me an 8.
>Joshua_Sokol: ?ACDKRS 8A CARKS +57 231
#note Why couldn't Josh play RACKS like a normal non-top expert Scrabble player?
>Jonathan_Lindh: AEENRTU C8 .ENATURE +68 183
#note Best. I now have the board extremely volatile, exactly what I want for a big comeback.
>Joshua_Sokol: ?ADEJLS 15A JE.D +42 273
>Jonathan_Lindh: AGILORU 11A GI.OUR +14 197
#note 12A OUTRIG is another option. Both GIAOUR and OUTRIG are good plays.
>Joshua_Sokol: ?AILOSW 9B W. +10 283
#note this was so sad and bad. I should just do something more aggressive I think. This doesn't hit all that much and I'm just in the same spot next turn a lot, after having scored nothing and done nothing. Should just do SWAIL/TOMS, which I was going to do, but then didn't like leaving the N column bingos open forever. Had a silly idea of being able to fully control this board still. #tacticsmedium
>Jonathan_Lindh: AEHLMOY B2 HEA.Y +44 241
#note Best.
>Joshua_Sokol: ?AILLOS A1 LO +11 294
#note All-----ison... You know this rack is killing me ohhhh...
>Jonathan_Lindh: EILMOOT C1 TOM +24 265
#note Now Josh blocked A1 LOOM. TOM seems fine enough.
>Joshua_Sokol: ?AILLOS 14B A.IL +15 309
#note or O(R)AL. It's close, annoying to duplicate the I here.
>Jonathan_Lindh: EEIILNO - +0 265
#note Now Josh blocked 14B ORIEL for 21 which would have opened up the board massively. I traded 5 keeping EN because I didn't see plays such as A8 COIGNE or CONGII for 16. It wouldn't matter in the end.
>Joshua_Sokol: ?EGLOST 10H LEGaTOS +69 378
#note whew
>Jonathan_Lindh: DEFIINN M9 F.INED +28 293
>Joshua_Sokol: ?ABDEIR 1C .RIBADEs +83 461
#note LEGATOS and TRIBADES were Josh's highest scoring bingos.
>Jonathan_Lindh: IILNNOO 12K LI.IN +12 305
#note LININ was 7 behind 2E NOLO for 19. I was more concerned about getting back to LaGuardia instead of looking for a play that would make no difference in the standings.
>Joshua_Sokol: EE 9M .EE +8 469
>Joshua_Sokol: (NOO) +6 475
#note Congrats to Chloe on 1st and Josh on 2nd!
