#note Only bingo
>Mark_Garrod: ?AABIOT H1 AIrBOAT. +86 86
>Arie_Sinke: AHIOPUX 9A POX +39 117
#note ROUX E8 wins the sim by a margin of about 4 points. 17 points is a substantial sacrifice in immediate score, but the improvement in the leave is substantial, plus I set myself up for HIP for 38 at a minimum if it isn't blocked. I have no trouble believing that it's better; I didn't consider it during the game.
>Mark_Garrod: AHINPUU 5F CL.WNIER +76 162
>Mark_Garrod: AHINPUU -- -76 86
>Arie_Sinke: AGHILUZ 7F LU.Z +29 146
#note It actually pays to block EW 10A here, as that's Mark's best play by a significant margin (if I block his best option is WILCO for 20.) A number of options do that - AH, PUGH, PHIZ; with PUGH simming best, probably on account of the better leave.
>Mark_Garrod: CEILNRW 10A EW +31 117
>Arie_Sinke: AAGHIII -AGIII +0 146
#note OHIA wins the sim by a small margin; I'm not convinced that it's worth it. I think exchanging is called for.
>Mark_Garrod: CEEILNR 3A RECLINE. +70 187
>Arie_Sinke: ADHLQSV 2E QAD. +34 180
#note Looks best.
>Mark_Garrod: BEM A1 BE.M +33 220
>Arie_Sinke: ?HLNOSV C7 V.. +17 197
#note This wins the sim - fishing is clearly called for here. I bingo 72% of the time.
>Mark_Garrod: EFRY B2 R.EFY +46 266
>Arie_Sinke: ?CHLNOS 5D CHOL.NeS +98 295
#note CHOLONeS is no good. I wasn't confident that it was good but thought I might get away with it if it wasn't. I didn't see either of the two acceptable bingos, SCHLONg 11B for 79 and L(UN)CHeONS G6 for 69. Realistically, I should be playing SCHLONg here; for 19 points gambling isn't worth it.
>Mark_Garrod: DEIJO 4K EJIDO +30 296
>Arie_Sinke: AEIRTTW 3M TAW +24 319
#note This wins a sim by a substantial margin, as it optimizes score and leave while largely obstructing the O.
>Mark_Garrod: GINO O3 ..OING +30 326
>Arie_Sinke: AEHIRTT N6 HEART +36 355
#note H(ES)ITATER K3 is available for 74 and I missed it. If I'm not going to be bingoing, point grabbing isn't the way to go, according to Quackle, and I should be fishing off the T, or playing something like HI N6 for 28 to keep a stronger bingo leave.
>Mark_Garrod: AK D3 .A.K +20 346
>Arie_Sinke: AEFIOOT M6 AFT +30 385
#note This point grabbing play keeps a poor leave but actually does reasonably well in the sim. ROOFIE E8 looks a bit better, though; I was afraid of creating openings, but the unseen pool is quite weak and Mark isn't particularly likely to bingo immediately. By this point my strategy was to consistently score as many points as possible and hope to outrun. In the end it worked, but if I play AFT I'm in big trouble if Mark bingos, and with two hook tiles for HEART unseen, as well as a few for SOW, that possibility remains even if I don't open up the board with ROOFIE.
>Mark_Garrod: AEGU M10 AGUE +12 358
>Arie_Sinke: EIILOOS C7 ...EL +21 406
#note Quackle hates this play. It is certainly an unconventional choice, but it worked, and I probably had worse than average draws after my play. With the other options I'm probably in trouble if I don't bingo eventually. With VOXEL I take a big enough lead that it's hard to outrun, particularly since I hold the case S.
>Mark_Garrod: EGINP A9 ..EPING +45 403
>Arie_Sinke: IIIOOSU 12A .ISO +28 434
#note This is best.
>Mark_Garrod: DU 11K DU. +10 413
>Arie_Sinke: EIIIOUY 10J YO +16 450
#note Despite my poor rack it's difficult to lose at this point. I liked this because I kept BERME while scoring a few points.
>Mark_Garrod: DEMRRTT 12L M.TT +22 435
>Arie_Sinke: EIIINU E8 .UIN +8 458
#note This is best because it blocks LARDER.
>Mark_Garrod: DERR N2 R.. +8 443
>Arie_Sinke: EII A1 ....E +14 472
#note Best.
>Mark_Garrod: DER 14K RED +11 454
