>mark_edelson: FOP 8G FOP +16 16
>morris_greenberg: BGIILNY 7F GIB +17 17
#note I was choosing between this IGNI(F)Y and LIGNIF(Y), felt like those were unnecessarily open. LIB is a really slick idea here too, setting up GLIB.
>mark_edelson: DEW 9H WED +21 37
>morris_greenberg: CILMNUY 10D CUMIN +24 41
>morris_greenberg: CILMNUY -- -24 17
>mark_edelson: AEL 10H LEA +24 61
>morris_greenberg: CILMNUY 11J MUCIN +24 41
#note I didn't see MINCY in-game in the same spot, I probably would have played it here. MY is also a really clever idea I missed creating the (MY)C lane. Both of those sim ahead in Quackle, as well as YUM.
>mark_edelson: ABENRRS O5 BARRENS +87 148
>morris_greenberg: HLNNPSY M10 H.NNY +22 63
#note I liked how this kept things more open than LYN(C)H and PSY(C)H (winning the game was most important to me, but also need to win by 68 to win the division so I wanted to favor especially flexible positions if facing a close decision). Debated H(I)NNY vs P(I)NNY, didn't see the value of keeping the H here for 2 fewer points. Quackle likes LYNCH best here.
>mark_edelson: AZ N6 ZA +64 212
#note Mark apologized here while playing this. I said "it's okay there's a lot of game left".
>morris_greenberg: AELNOPS K3 NOPALES +76 139
#note Opening the top portion of the board for 2 fewer than 11B (or 1 fewer than 12D) felt right to me. I am not sure which is best.
>mark_edelson: AK J6 KA +34 246
>morris_greenberg: ?EGHINT 4G HIsT.GEN +74 213
#note I failed to realize DAM takes an N backhook, so I was choosing between HIs(T)OGEN and NiGHTIE 12D (I missed sEN(N)IGHT and GaHNITE as well). It was a close call, so I went with the more flexible option.
>mark_edelson: DEL L6 ELD +21 267
>morris_greenberg: AEJOOQU H1 QUA. +39 252
#note Hilarious that playing either the QUA or JOE can allow for a huge 14J play if I draw the S. One idea I missed was JO(T) J2, as I and T are the two most common tiles in the bag here, so EQUATIO(N) 13F is in play (or SEQUOIA for that matter), it bingos over 12% of the time and still preserves QUA(I) at a minimum if I miss.
>mark_edelson: IMX 3M MIX +34 301
>morris_greenberg: ?EJOOOV O1 VO. +39 291
#note Saving the possibility of JOE(Y)s next turn at a minimum, and if I draw consonants, I have J(IN)/J(O) for 38.
>mark_edelson: ELORW 5D ROWEL +35 336
>morris_greenberg: ?EEJOOT 14J JOE. +30 321
#note I spent awhile on this turn, it felt very tough. Between JOE(Y), JOE(Y)s, JETE 4A, J(O) 2N, lots of good options. J(O) hit bingos too rarely next turn to consider I decided, and thought 60 for JOEYS wasn't enough of an upgrade over 42 for JETE and keep the blank if I wanted to go the scoring route. Between JOE(Y) and JETE, I thought that Mark is hitting the J often enough after JETE that JOE(Y) is worth the point sacrifice. Quackle agrees JOE(Y) is best, though likes JETE least of the 4 options I considered (52% win for JOE(Y), 46.5% for JOE(Y)s, 46% for J(O), and 45% for JETE).
>mark_edelson: GISV 11E VIGS +26 362
>morris_greenberg: ?EEOTTY N9 YE. +21 342
#note Another tough turn. This felt like the most flexible option for the board that scores enough that if I draw hefty tiles instead of bingo-ey tiles, I could still outrun sometimes underneath the JOE in JOE(Y). Quackle likes TYEE 4A 3% more than this (51% vs. 48%), presumably because there are a lot of triple-triples it hits, but Mark almost certainly blocks them if I had to guess.
>mark_edelson: AFOR 15G FARO +30 392
>morris_greenberg: ?DEOTTT C1 TrOTTED +77 419
#note Wasn't 100% on sTOTTED, so more was debating between the 2 spots for TrOTTED. After the previous 2 turns, I didn't have a lot of time to decide, and thought the counterplay allowed by the other one underneath and not allowing TROWEL bingos if Mark has a T tipped the scales towards this. TOTED C3 is also a fun idea I didn't consider over the board, I'd still probably play this, but it isn't far off.
>mark_edelson: IS N14 SI +34 426
>morris_greenberg: ACIORTU 14B TURACO +33 452
#note Once again very little time to figure this out (under a minute). I saw this blocked both ERUDITE options and knew I'd lose some endgames with a bad pull, but didn't see a fish that hit bingos often enough to merit forgoing this. This wins most often per champ player (86% of the time), but wish I had more time over the board to calculate this out.
>mark_edelson: ADEIRTU 15A RATED +31 457
#note (Q)UAD 1H wins by 4, this wins by 1, though this is definitely a tougher line to calculate
