#title 2022 NSC Round 3
#description Will Anderson plays Siddarth Murali in Round 3 at the 2022 NSC
>Will: BEFGLOU 8G BEGULF +32 32
>Siddarth: ?AIISTX L2 fIXATI.S +84 84
>Will: IJOOPVW 9F JOW +24 56
#note Debated between 5H POOJA and JOW a while. I liked that POOJA gave me some chances at WOT underlapping the J for a lot of points with an O redraw, and it also scores 4 more points than JOW. In-game, VIW felt slightly rougher than IOPV, but both are so weak that I should've grabbed the extra points. I also didn't think of 6H PIVOT, setting up my J at 5K, which is a nice idea.
>Siddarth: ADGMQRS 3I QAD.S +50 134
>Will: AIOPRVW 10E VOW +30 86
#note Annoying for Sid if he has no A.
>Siddarth: ADGHMNR 5F GRANDM. +22 156
>Will: ?AIIPRY D10 AIRY +24 110
#note Would've preferred not to cash the hook now, but didn't see anything I liked better. Just fishing with M3 SI is probably the closest choice to AIRY but I'll still bingo a decent amount here.
>Siddarth: AEHLRSS 11G SLASHER +79 235
>Will: ?EHIPPZ 12L HEP +28 138
#note Setting up ZIP, or maybe sometimes lucky HEPs plays with case blank.
>Siddarth: ABEEILU 6H BEAU. +24 259

>Siddarth: AEEINRU A4 URINE +26 316
>Will: DEIKNVY H11 .INKY +39 323
#note Agonizing choice here. I burned most of my remaining time on this move. I was trying to figure out how to balance keeping my K for the 2J spot with scoring as much as possible now. I thought about just cashing KIF now, but DENVY felt too inflexible compared to LINKY's leave of DEV, which at least becomes a decent scoring play hooking NOD much of the time. LIVED leaving the K for next turn for KAF/KEF/KIF was sorely tempting, but 9 points was a ton to leave on the board in such a close game.
>Siddarth: ADEEINT 2J DE.AT +30 346
>Will: ADEOOTV 1H AVO +22 345
#note I played this move quickly, thinking that I had at least some chances of drawing a bingo ending in D that would play in two spots, but it's too easy for Sid to block both of those spots here, either with a 5-letter word down column C, or a MURINE hooking play, etc. Sim strongly prefers VOTED for 28, scoring 6 more, leaving an O for ODA plays, and drawing for some combo of CFM, which in fact were all available to help me outrun.
>Siddarth: EEINNOO N12 ..ON +18 364
>Will: DEMNOTT 9L .TOT +5 350
#note I understand this move confused people. It confused me too. I was down to very little time here and felt like I would struggle to win close endgames here even with more time, and set up another spot where miracle bingos might go down. In hindsight I would just do 1M TED or MET and hope Sid struggles to score anything on his next move, which actually would have happened with CF still in the bag.
>Siddarth: AEEINOT O5 NOTA.E +18 382
>Will: CDEEMNT C2 CEMENT +26 376
#note Missed DEMETON N4, lucky that wasn't the difference. Definitely feels like this one was winnable as well.
