#player1 Jonathan_Lindh Jonathan Lindh
#player2 Greg_Feldkamp Greg Feldkamp
>Jonathan_Lindh: AENOOVZ 8D ZONAE +48 48
#note Game 4 2022 World Cup Early Bird. Best. I would play the same word to start off in Game 5 as well.
>Greg_Feldkamp: ADGOPRT H2 PORTAG.D +63 63
#note I held this play for a very long time but wisely did not challenge. For some reason, I thought PORTAGE only took an S back hook not a D for awhile.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ACEOOQV -AOOQV +0 48
#note Should have played through. 5F OCTAVO for 22 is worth it.
>Greg_Feldkamp: ENOORSU 5F OU.SNORE +66 129
#note Greg still had ONEROUS if I play OCTAVO but that gives way more back than OUTSNORE.
>Jonathan_Lindh: GNPY E7 P.NGY +22 70
#note Didn't record my rack here.
>Greg_Feldkamp: AILTX 3H .XTAIL +42 171
#note Great play by Greg to score and close down the board.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AACEELT 2H .EA +20 90
#note Surprisingly this is best.
>Greg_Feldkamp: EENRSW 1J RENEWS +33 204
#note Also RESEWN in this spot. Another good play.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ACELRTT 4A CARTEL +24 114
#note Debatable. Didn't see the value of fishing with my rack on this board so I decide to score and go for turnover.
>Greg_Feldkamp: OTW D11 OWT +17 221
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?ABFITT C11 BAIT +29 143
#note Best play. Scores and sets up a major H hook with two H's out.
>Greg_Feldkamp: DFNO C3 F.OND +22 243
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?BFHITY A1 BIT.HY +48 191
#note FITCHY in the same spot is a little better, but BITCHY is still a good play.
>Greg_Feldkamp: EIKR O1 .KIER +10 253
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?FHLMOV 15A FOH +37 228
#note Best play.
>Greg_Feldkamp: ACDI I9 ACID +12 265
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?EILMVV H12 EVIL +28 256
#note Best play. Flipped back and forth between EVIL and VIVE. VIVE closes the board too much and allows Greg to make 5 letter V plays to the triple that score decently. EVIL keeps worse but creates a favorable board position.
>Greg_Feldkamp: J 12B J.. +13 278
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?AEMUUV J7 VUM +14 270
#note The engine likes 15E UVULA for 8 best here, but that seems too blocky and doesn't take Greg's potential J fish into account.
>Greg_Feldkamp: ?DEEILS L5 .EaLISED +68 346
#note K8 SEIDELs and SEEDILy are 73 and block better. REALISED gets the job done though and sims pretty highly out of all of the bingos.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?AEEMSU 15H .EUcEMAS +80 350
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?AEEMSU -- -80 270
#note Horrible position for me. I saw EMULATES for 60 (I thought it was 62), but passed on it because that play never wins. Ideally, I would fish to create a second lane, but the problem is 12L DE is the only play that creates a second lane and AEEMS? doesn't overlap that well with REALISED. I convinced myself LEUCEMAS* was valid and confidently played it, only to be surprised when Greg challenged it off. I got confused with LEUCEMIAS, which is valid. What would you do here? The engine likes 7H GUV for 8 and 3C FE for 7 best but I can't see how those plays win.
>Greg_Feldkamp: ORU 15H .OUR +4 350
#note QI was in the bag!
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?AEEMSU 14J MEdUSA +38 308
#note No wins but this play is wrong.14J MAUTS, MAULS, MAUDS, and MAUSY are tied for the best play.
>Greg_Feldkamp: AGIINQ M13 Q.A +24 374
#note Best play. D2 QAT for 17 is available in case I made one of the correct plays on the previous turn.
>Jonathan_Lindh: E O14 .E +6 314
#note I2 EXES is 13.
>Jonathan_Lindh: (GIIN) +10 324
#note Final score recorded as 364-323 Greg because he went a few seconds over. Final score should have been 364-324. Wasn't feeling great at 2-2 +112, but I would recover to win the Early Bird in the next two games. I will finish those two tomorrow.
