Player 1
#player1 Joe_Roberdeau Joe Roberdeau
#player2 Jonathan_Lindh Jonathan Lindh
>Joe_Roberdeau: ADEHT H4 HATED +26 26
#note Game 2 2022 World Cup Early Bird. Joe is one of my few opponents in the World Cup to open vertically.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ABCIKLP G7 PICK +28 28
#note Missed bingo #2. 8C BLACKTIP is 80 and 7A PICKABLE is 72. I saw BLACKPIT* but not BLACKTIP. BLACKTIP is a little tough to find but I should be able to find PICKABLE. Lucky this miss did not cost me.
>Joe_Roberdeau: JO F6 JO +30 56
>Jonathan_Lindh: ABILOST 11C OBLASTI +81 109
#note Wow! I thought my play was best but 8G IDIOBLAST is 89. I know the word too, just wasn't looking in that spot. I also saw SAILBOAT.
>Joe_Roberdeau: EEZ I3 ZEE +29 85
>Jonathan_Lindh: AEGNOTU 3I .ONATE +30 139
#note I really struggled with this turn. Could not come up with the top options D8 GUNBOAT for 24 and H11 TOGUE for 21. My play scores more but GU is gross and my play is pretty aggressive, I easily could get hit hard on J2. Despite that, ZONATE isn't a huge blunder; it's within 2% of the top plays. I wondered with Joe knew the hooks. Spoiler: the hooks would come into play.
>Joe_Roberdeau: AE 2M AE +10 95
#note I didn't catch EE# until Joe drew tiles.
>Jonathan_Lindh: DGIOORU 1L ORDO +25 164
#note AE screamed fish so I wanted to play defense on the 1 row. My play seems ok.
>Joe_Roberdeau: DEIORRT L3 .DROITER +70 165
#note Oof. Joe's phony two leads to a bingo.
>Jonathan_Lindh: FGIILLU M7 FIL +25 189
#note Best play.
>Joe_Roberdeau: IS O3 SI +19 184
>Joe_Roberdeau: IS -- -19 165
>Jonathan_Lindh: EGIILMU 12B GIE +18 207
#note I know Joe has an S, so I am keeping things very tight here.
>Joe_Roberdeau: IS J11 SI +12 177
>Joe_Roberdeau: IS -- -12 165
#note This play took me 2 minutes to challenge and ended up putting me over by 47 seconds at the end of the game.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AILMPTU 13A MILT +26 233
#note Once again, given my partial rack knowledge of Joe's rack, I have to keep things tighter than normal and can't play for raw equity.
>Joe_Roberdeau: IS A13 .IS +15 180
>Jonathan_Lindh: AEEPRUV 10I AVE. +17 250
#note I had the right idea, but J10 VERA is my play here.
>Joe_Roberdeau: AE 10D AE +10 190
>Jonathan_Lindh: CENPRUU 12I RUNE +11 261
#note This was a mistake. Too focused on cutting on row 12. Given my rack knowledge, 4D PUNCHER seems like the play here. 4C PENUCHE could be an option too.
>Joe_Roberdeau: ?AGHLSU - +0 190
#note Exchange 2. Not actual rack.
>Jonathan_Lindh: CFOPUUY N9 FOY +17 278
#note 13G COYPU is normally my play, but I wanted to kill the board given Joe's last few turns. Hoping Joe tries ELFS*.
>Joe_Roberdeau: AEHINSV O4 EVANISH +104 294
>Joe_Roberdeau: AEHINSV -- -104 190
#note Instachallenged. Joe had O10 HAVENS for 58 though. COYPU was still probably my play.
>Jonathan_Lindh: CDNPQUU 15A .UQ +12 290
#note Blocking lanes. 4D PUNCHED is much better.
>Joe_Roberdeau: AEHINSV 7E H... +9 199
#note Still HAVENS.
>Jonathan_Lindh: CDGNNPU O3 DUNG +24 314
#note And I miss 4D PUNCHED yet again. DUNG is still solid though.
>Joe_Roberdeau: AEINSV 8A NAIVE +41 240
>Jonathan_Lindh: CMNOPRY B6 CR.MP +23 337
#note B4 COMPANY for 27 is a better version of what I was trying to do. Scores more and goes for more turnover.
>Joe_Roberdeau: GX J2 G.X +28 268
>Jonathan_Lindh: ANNOTWY 13G WAY +28 365
#note AWNY in the same spot was the play I was looking for. My play accomplishes similar objectives.
>Joe_Roberdeau: ?ARSUW O10 WAlRUS +34 302
#note I got majorly lucky with this play. I was 45 seconds over or so at this point.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?EINNOT 15H TENsION. +74 439
#note Quickly laid this down and felt relieved to get a 100+ point victory. I didn't play the last two games well at all but yet I am still 2-0 with a great spread.
>Jonathan_Lindh: (BLS) +10 449
#note Final score recorded as 436-303 because of -10 on time for me. Score should have been recorded as 439-302.
