#note I saw ISOTOPIC but missed POLITICO. I do like some things about my play but POLITICO is just better. #findinglarge

>Kenji: AADELNR 2F .ALENDAR +63 130
>Andy: HSY N2 SHY +42 96
>Kenji: FINSTVV L1 F.VIST +32 162
#note On the scale of intentional-ness, this is pretty high: I'm challenging if this gets S-hooked most of the time. I'm still almost certain this is getting by, as I've seen Andy take some phoneys already, this isn't a word that looks like I'm phoneying, and there's favism, fauvist, etc. Maybe I should do VAVS anyway, though FINT just looks really bad in general and bad on this board in particular especially after h1 dies.
>Andy: CEW H1 C.EW +39 135
>Kenji: AINNRSV D1 VINA +32 194
#note This is very close, as NRS really is a bit heavy here. But the R is still a really good tile, the V is a decent blocker, and I'm likely going to have several turns to groom my rack here. The simulation has it as a virtual dead heat between this and INVAR, totally unsurprisingly.
>Andy: B 3F .B. +15 150
>Kenji: AENORSX O4 AXONE +45 239
#note Playing this after I played VINA over INVAR feels weird, but I really just didn't want to feel forced to race against a better tile. I thought the O at o6 was good for me against a one tile fish, and most of the bingos are going to fit anyway. ENORS is not really the best rack to race with here. I also thought there was a chance I'm the only one who would see this spot. Simulation prefers AX but not overwhelmingly against a strong range, with substantally lower standard deviations, so I'm fine with this play, especially compared to some of the other blunders.

>Kenji: AEOOSST D8 ..SEO +22 315
#note Not too sure here: every play has major problems. Maybe OOTS in hindsight, but I was a bit worried about E/vowel overload, and figured FEAT will be there in the future. OOTS just loses to random bingos which I really don't want here, and PASEO does complicate the game which I do want, so I'm mostly okay with it. A simulation wants OOF and just going all in, but that is just never happening and probably underestimates how often the board gets shut down, not to mention the extreme risk.
>Andy: ADEMW J10 MAWED +39 323
>Kenji: AEHIOST J6 HA +28 343
#note This is just horrible. I need FEAT for guaranteed future scoring, and I'm giving that away for some OUT bingos, some column m junk, and some duplication? I thought there were more As in the pool (I mistracked and had to retrack later) but still, just, no. Something like AHI, otoh, may very well be worth it. Definitely want this play back, and I even identified how bad this play was immediately after the game. #strategylarge
>Andy: AEG L10 GAE +30 353
>Kenji: EILOSTT E11 TOIT +17 360
#note So I hit a bingo and it gets blocked and really, really want an option like FEAT right around now.
>Andy: FIR F13 FIR +17 370
>Kenji: EEELLRS 5D L..ES +23 383
#note I elect to do this to make sure I have a stable rack in the endgame, and to have slightly better endgame timing. That being said this is only slightly better than a flip. ELUTES might be theoretically more optimal but it's also a heck of a lot easier to play.
>Andy: DEORT M7 DOTER +31 401
>Kenji: EEIKLNR H7 R.NELIKE +63 446
#note I thought about just LINKER here but I'm not exactly in the mood to chicken out of words I'm fairly sure of, espscially after I just blundered with HA.
