>Annette_Obrestad: FOU 8F FOU +12 12
>Arie_Sinke: DEFILRT I4 TRIFLED +73 73
#note Here I have a variety of placed to play FLIRTED/TRIFLED for similar scores, and I need to choose between them on the basis of positional considerations. My play doesn't set up as many parallel triple options as the other FLIRTED/TRIFLED plays using the FOU hooks, and sims about even with FLIRTED 9A, which scores one more point and sets up A8 in as safe a way as possible by putting the F directly under it.
>Annette_Obrestad: EEIJST H10 EEJITS +66 78
>Arie_Sinke: BDGNORR 6F BOR.NG +17 90
#note I didn't consider DOBRO G7 for 19, which looks pretty good. The value of GNR is inflated with a floating I, and BORING creates an S hook that I don't have. Surprisingly, I bingo 8% more often (36% as opposed to 28%) keeping GNR after DOBRO than by keeping DR after BORING.
>Annette_Obrestad: AHOW J9 WHOA +38 116
>Arie_Sinke: CDENRUU 14A UNDERCU. +84 174
#note Highest scoring bingo.
>Annette_Obrestad: EEIOPSS 4F POE.ISES +72 188
>Arie_Sinke: AAEMNNT 15A MEAN +41 215
#note Looks best.
>Annette_Obrestad: ALV H1 LAV. +21 209
>Arie_Sinke: AAANOPT 3J TAPA +24 239
#note This looks fine; I might also want to consider OPA 13C, which scores one more and keeps AANT instead of ANO. TAPA sims a bit bettter. Being able to block the L in the future with a 2K-N overlap might be helpful as well.
>Annette_Obrestad: DEHIMOR -3 +0 209
>Arie_Sinke: ?AKNOOR 13A ROOK +39 278
#note Best scoring play.
>Annette_Obrestad: DEEILRS 9A RESILED +71 280
>Arie_Sinke: ?AACINN B2 ANtIACN. +72 350
#note I looked for a few minutes and couldn't come up with anything better than this. The two best bingos both make the blank a B - CINNAbAR A2 and CANNIbAL 1A for 80. I'm not sure which of the two is better; I kind of like CANNIbAL because it takes the L out of play, and the R will likely get dealt with next turn anyhow, but there's no denying that CINNAbAR eliminates more opportunities for immediate scoring, particularly with QZ.
>Annette_Obrestad: ADIW K11 WADI +28 308
>Arie_Sinke: EHNQTXY 14J Q. +31 381
#note I played the Q because I wanted to have the flexibility of a Q free rack to be able to respond to any opening Annette creates effectively. However, I should probably be going for QI J14 for 62 here with three Is unseen. A sim suggests L11 THE for 33 or E9 LYNX for 28. (Not YEH because the Y is good for LYNX? I guess? THE does better in the sim.
>Annette_Obrestad: ABIO A1 OBIA +29 337
>Arie_Sinke: EHNTXYY L10 YEH +36 417
#note Quackle really wants me to play LYNX here. I guess I get it; EHTY is a much more flexible rack going into the pre-endgame than NTXY. But 8 points seems like a lot to give up? LYNX also obstructs occasional eights through the I in RESILED or to the E in EEJITS, which probably helps.
>Annette_Obrestad: EGOUV 2K VOGUE +33 370
>Arie_Sinke: ?NRTTXY O1 N.XT +36 453
#note I was low on time and unable to appreciate the complexity of this pre-endgame, and was forced to make a reasonable looking play quickly, which is a shame because this is an interesting pre-endgame. Here Annette potentially threatens either GEEZ O1 for 72 or TIZ 10D for 69. I can't block them both, so I have to score enough to outrun while blocking one of the two options and crossing my fingers that she doesn't have the other one. However, the best play by far is XI 13G, scoring 34 and threatening to bingo with an E or I draw (ENTREATY, ENTIRETY, TRIUNITY through the E and I respectively.) Annette can't block them both, so she has to take the points with the Z and let me bingo out 3/8 of the time, and XI always scores enough to outrun. NEXT and a number of other plays also win 100% of the time, but XI is the best spread play.
>Annette_Obrestad: EGIILMT 10E IT +14 384
>Arie_Sinke: ?RTYZ D8 T.Z +25 478
#note I didn't realize that she threatens to play GLIME in two places (11A and M6). Taking the points with sIZY D8 while blocking the higher scoring GLIME is best.
>Annette_Obrestad: EGILM 13G M.G +18 402
>Arie_Sinke: ?RY 2F Ye.R +14 492
#note One last error to end the game - RYu 5D scores 2 more.
>Arie_Sinke: (EIL) +6 498
