>Arie_Sinke: DEINOQS 8G QI +22 22
#note Looks correct
>Max_Panitch: AAU G7 A.UA +15 15
>Arie_Sinke: DELNOOS 11B NOODLES +80 102
#note This or SNOOLED in the same spot. Not much to choose from but I prefer not to put an S out there as a floater.
>Max_Panitch: EFOR 12A FORE +30 45
>Arie_Sinke: AEEIRYZ A12 .AZE +48 150
#note I assumed that this would be better than SEIZA and SEIZE, as it scores 3 more points and creates fewer openings. However, SEIZA and SEIZE do slightly better in a sim. He averages 3 more despite bingoing 5% less after FAZE, so perhaps putting the Z next to the DWS is a bigger deal than I would be inclined to suppose. -3? Not sure this is wrong.
>Max_Panitch: ADENRRS I2 ERRANDS +73 118
>Arie_Sinke: EEIIRTY H1 EYE +25 175
#note This play isn't great, I missed TYEE H1 and ZITI 14A despite spending about 5 minutes looking for better options, unwilling to believe that anything as uninspiring as EYE could be best. -5.
>Max_Panitch: ??EILMT 5D bIMET.Ls +82 200
>Arie_Sinke: AEIIJRT 4K AJI +21 196
#note JIb D3 wins a sim, which is reasonable. My dogmatic aversion to 3v2c fishing leaves sometimes makes me overlook good plays. -3
>Max_Panitch: AILNY 14A .ANILY +52 252
>Arie_Sinke: DEIORST 15F EDITORS +82 278
#note Looks best.
>Max_Panitch: EPW 14H PEW +35 287
>Arie_Sinke: DEGIIKT 13J TIKI +22 300
#note This is a weird situation - I eschewed plays like KID/KIT/KEG/KI at 3M because I thought they were too aggressive, but they win the sim, and Max averages fewer points against them than against TIKI. Possibly because the OK overlaps score well? I would have a very hard time playing something like KID in a game. It is true, though, that KID scores 6 more points with a comparable leave.
>Max_Panitch: ABGNO 12K BOGAN +37 324
>Arie_Sinke: DEGIOTV O6 DEVOTI.G +89 389
>Max_Panitch: CEMX M3 C.MEX +48 372
>Arie_Sinke: AFNOTUW G1 OAF +28 417
#note Here I make a significant sacrifice in both score and leave to block 1A-H. A sim suggests that this is a miscalculation; although I block roughly half of all bingos that could possibly go down, he only has a 4% chance of bingoing on his next turn after plays like OWN J1, compared to 2% after OAF, but by leaving NTUW I put myself at a greater risk of being outrun. Looks like OAF wins about 64% of the time compared to 76% for OWN and other leading plays.
>Max_Panitch: HOST 10A SOTH +23 395
#note This looks really weird but it wins a sim to the end of the game pretty decisively over plays that play a U. There are only two vowels unseen, so I will either draw consonants that help me to play the Us or draw vowels and Max will have 7 consonants. This gets me a few points and blocks the S. The other play that
>Arie_Sinke: ANTUUUW A6 WANT. +24 441
#note This wins a sim easily over anything that plays a U. There are only 2 unseen vowels, so either I draw the vowels and Max has 7 consonants or I draw all consonants that help me bail out the U's. The other play that does well in a sim is WAT L8, but I think I prefer WANTS.
>Max_Panitch: BR 2F B...R +18 413
>Arie_Sinke: EHIUUUV 7D UVE. +7 448
#note This is CP's choice by 12 points. It is my only out in four.
>Max_Panitch: CGLNPR K3 G..P +6 419
>Arie_Sinke: HIUU 8C UH +18 466
>Max_Panitch: CLNR 6M .N. +6 425
>Arie_Sinke: IU J5 .I +11 477
>Max_Panitch: CLR F13 R.. +6 431
>Arie_Sinke: U 5M .U +6 483
#note The endgame was played optimally. A few questionable plays, and EYE was really not a good play.
>Arie_Sinke: (CL) +8 491
