#note After drawing the bag in round 1, I astound myself by drawing another high-probability bingo rack on turn one of round 2. This, AUGItES, and GAUdIES are the options. GAUdIES takes a T hook and AUGItES puts two vowels next to DLS squares, so I went with this. The plays sim closely.

#note I miss RAN(U)LAR E5 for 28 here. I would have played it had I seen it, as dinky fishes like LAR aren't really my style, as they introduce too much uncertainty to the game. The sim winner is RAW K5 for 12, sacrificing two points to retain the L with AENR. This sims worse than RANULAR. I prefer RANULAR with a lead. -4.

>Arie_Sinke: AEHNRXZ 8L .ZAN +39 121
#note ZEN 10J wins the sim by far, as it sets up AX plays on row 11 for a minimum of 47 next turn. I did not see ZEN and would like to get better at finding this type of tactical setup play. Another option is RHEA 6I, scoring 44 but retaining both the X and the Z, which is less optimal than only one of the two. -5, -9.

#note I am so lucky that Bernard didn't play ITERANCE! I have always wanted to play this word.

>Arie_Sinke: EIOOTUV 13E OUTVIE +17 341
#note OUTVIES 15I for 14 is an interesting alternative. I would sacrifice a mere three points to take out the best remaining bingo line on the board. I don't believe I considered it. A 1000 iteration sim to the end of the game has OUTVIES winning about 1% more often, 98% versus 97%. OUTVIE is the preferable play for equity. I would consider this to be a clear error.
>Bernard_Gotlieb: ENR K3 REN.. +16 233
>Arie_Sinke: AADELOY N14 YA +22 363
#note Now I suddeny realize the importance of blocking 15H-O. Unfortunately, I don't do it in the best way. AHOY M11 for 20 blocks the line very effectively at a sacrifice of 2 points while retaining the superior ADEL leave. -2, -11.
>Bernard_Gotlieb: MOUV C12 OVUM +21 254
>Arie_Sinke: ADELOTU 15C .ODULATE +86 449
#note It's a good thing Bernard set me up for MODULATE, or I would surely have missed OUTLAnDER G3 for 63. I also happen to know with 100% certainty that OUTLANDER is good, since I challenged it once against Christopher Sykes at the Brantford Club, being under the impression that it was a proper noun, the make of a Mitsubishi SUV, and in the same category as SPORTAGE.

>Bernard_Gotlieb: DFGIRST 14B D.G +13 291
>Arie_Sinke: DEFIRST 9C F.STED +24 556
#note I correctly noted that I had to block several bingos at B6, of which the highest scoring is PILINGS. However, FESTED isn't good. I have no idea why I thought FEST was a verb, and if I had paused to consider FESTING I might have realized that it wasn't good. Also, FESTED wouldn't even be best if it were good. My best play is RIFTS B8, threatening to go out with an unblockable DE(MODULATE)! This is a significant error. I missed the opportunity to make this a 600 point game.
