#note Both Austin and I were surprised that this was phony.

>David_Koenig: AHLNOUV F2 HAO +32 184
#note I did see UNLOVE here, but I could not convince myself that it was a word. I thought it might only be UNLOVED. Unfortunately, it is far better than any other play I have here. Furthermore, I suffered tunnel vision of only focuing on plays using the V for many minutes here, but I could not find another way to score with it. As a result, I burned a lot of time before I even thought of scoring with the H with HAO/HA. This turn was the largest reason I got in severe time pressure and fatigue later.

#note I challenged GIGAS, because I remembered that GIGHE was a plural of GIGA, but I forgot that this was also good. I think I might have made this exact same mistake before.
>David_Koenig: EFIMNRT I10 R.IF +34 234
#note I don't think I thought of NEIF, which might be a bit better, but the front hooks on this word make it a little interesting at least.

#note I thought I was just getting back into this game, and he wasn't necessarily going to have very good scoring plays on the next turn except in ways that opened up more for me, so there wasn't a good case for opening the K line with something like OPE or POME here. I don't think my play was necessarily a mistake, but his next move was a shock to my system.
>Austin_Shin: ?ACDHRR 5G .RCHARDs +76 377
#note A bad beat for me. Austin goes up by almost 100 and doesn't give me an E for TENEMENT. I have no plays that score anything decent with this rack, and it's very hard to find a reasonable play that even gives me good chances on the next turn. I burned most of my remaining time here, and came up with something that might not be good in an objective sense, but it made things just dicey enough that I got surprisingly more comeback chances than expected.
>David_Koenig: EEMNNTT N3 NE.T +5 285
#note It's counterintuitive to block the S, but I figured that he might not be in a good position to make a vowel starting word himself on the O column, and if he has to make a short one it might give me N column bingos anyway. Furthermore, this is effectively a board forker, because it might be hard for him to make a play that both blocks column O and takes out the K/L columns. Since I'm scoring so little when I'm already behind by 100, I need my bingo to score a lot, so it is helpful that the lane I created is on the triple line.
>Austin_Shin: FGO J13 FOG +23 400
>David_Koenig: ?EEMNNT O6 EMiNENT +79 364
#note I was close to brain-dead with fatigue on this turn after having spent so much mental energy on the previous one, so it took me more time than usual to find my bingo, which got my clock under two minutes.
>Austin_Shin: ABBE N8 BABE +31 431
>David_Koenig: AIILORZ 14J .I +2 366
#note I didn't see ARROZ on this or the next turn, which is my highest scoring play, but it is hopeless. I am too far behind on score and need to play for the bingo. My play gives me a practical chance, though with perfect play Austin can guarantee a win. I can bingo with VALORIZE B1, ZOARIAL L8, or ZORILLA L9. The best case scenario for me is that the last two letters in the bag are AE or EL, in which case I will draw into a bingo, but Austin will not be able to know which one to block. His only play to force the win will then be QUIPOS L9, which is just enough to eke out a 468-464 victory if I hit VALORIZE. If that eventuality had happened, I would have kicked myself for challenging GIGAS. Even though I would have needed Austin to slip up slightly here, I'm proud that I found OI, especially because I was down to less than two minutes on my clock when this turn started.
