>Alec: DEENOOY 8H NEEDY +26 26
#note CoCo Seattle Scrabble tournament round 8. The leave OO is much worse than I expected. 8F OYE# is probably best. #strategymedium
>Ayotunde_Adeyeri: EEILRST K1 RELISTE. +68 68
#note RELISTEN scores 77; I think Ayotunde was unsure of it.
>Alec: EKLOORT 4F ROOTL.KE +76 102
#note Is the leave OO really so bad?
>Ayotunde_Adeyeri: MNOV 2J V.NOM +36 104
>Alec: AEGHTTU F4 .ETAUGHT +72 174
>Ayotunde_Adeyeri: BIJU H1 BIJ.U +42 146
>Alec: DEEEFST 10E S.EETFED +73 247
>Alec: AAANOWZ (challenge) +5 252
#note I didn't know the other bingo, H7 ENFESTED#.
>Ayotunde_Adeyeri: FHNO 11K FOHN +33 179
>Alec: AAANOWZ 1M WAZ +54 306
#note 7H OZAENA# is amazing. 1M ZOA is also better than WAZ#. #visionlarge
>Ayotunde_Adeyeri: ARV 3M RAV +31 210
#note VAR scores 6 more in the same spot.
>Alec: AAILNOQ 6B QANA. +34 340
#note Scored as 36. QANAT has the best equity, but the best play is O3 VALONIA, which blocks high-scoring bingos on columns N and O. Also, I might as well play my I off, given that six more I's are unseen. #strategymedium
>Ayotunde_Adeyeri: ?INRSTU O3 .eNTURIS +80 290
#note 12I NITRoUS, NUTRIaS, and NUTSIeR score 84 and would not have been blocked by VALONIA.
>Alec: GILLOPW D1 PLOWI.G +32 372
>Ayotunde_Adeyeri: ADE 12L DAE +25 315
>Alec: ?CEILOY 13K COY +40 412
#note Championship Player gives COY the best valuation, 13L OYE# the best win chance, and 13J CLOYE# second place in both. CLOYE also has the best equity. I find it difficult to argue for OYE because it creates a lane in row 14. I like CLOYE, which scores 7 more and blocks column I; is downside is that it turns over more tiles than COY while keeping an I, since 4 I's are unseen. I chose COY because I didn't know CLOYE. #questionable
>Ayotunde_Adeyeri: IO C3 IO +13 328
>Alec: ?EIIILO 11B IOLI.E +18 430
#note IOLITE has the best equity and leaves 5 in the bag, thereby preventing Ayotunde from playing two bingos. It also sets up (among other column-B-or-C bingos and X bombs) B8 PAXIUBAS#, which I didn't know and which may allow him to steal the game. Quackle prefers short plays like 5J ISO# and L4 KOI, which theoretically allow Ayotunde to play two bingos, but bingos are hard to come by on this board, and even if he plays one, I should be able to block afterward or respond with a bingo. Maybe 7H IO# is better, just to block bingos on columns H and I? #questionable
>Ayotunde_Adeyeri: IX 10B XI +52 380
>Alec: ?ACDGIN 8A CAGs +31 461
>Alec: BDINPR (challenge) +10 471
#note I played CAGs# to prevent Ayotunde from using the PLOWINGS# hook. Championship Player does not even consider CAGs. Its choice of 13I ACCOY# is intriguing; it sets up any of 15 possible bingos on row 14 for Ayotunde, but I outrun all of them, and if he doesn't take the spot then I almost always bingo out. I'm not sure whether I can call CAGs a mistake, since Ayotunde challenged both words. #questionable
>Ayotunde_Adeyeri: AAEMRSU O12 SAME +27 407
#note The best endgame begins with 7I AREAE, setting up 6H SMUT. (-35)
>Alec: BDINPR 7J P.ND +18 489
#note 7J BEND is best, but I didn't know RIPP#. #knowledgesmall (-3)
>Ayotunde_Adeyeri: ARU N14 UR +14 421
>Alec: BIR B1 RIB +15 504
>Alec: (A) +2 506
#note Final score reported as 508-421.
