#note CoCo Seattle Scrabble tournament round 1
>Alec: ?AAIJOY F4 YOJA.A +32 32
>Dave_Wiegand: ?AEENRU H1 EbURNEA. +74 154
>Dave_Wiegand: BILP (challenge) +5 159
>Alec: ?CIOTTU 1E TOr.UTIC +62 94
#note #knowledgesmall for the challenge. I wasn't sure of AUTOpTIC#, which scores 67 at 7H. #knowledgesmall
>Dave_Wiegand: BILP 2C BLIP +26 185
>Alec: DEHLRTY 5E H.R.LET +40 134
#note 3A THY has the best equity and is made better by the fact that I need a bingo to come back, as the Y is bad for bingos. I didn't consider any valid play other than HORNLET#. #strategysmall
>Dave_Wiegand: DUW 4J WUD +21 206
>Alec: DMOQSUY 10B QUODS +56 190

#note !
>Dave_Wiegand: ADPR (challenge) +5 291
>Alec: AAAMOVY D12 MAYA +38 228
#note #knowledgesmall for the challenge. I missed 15E SAVOY, which has the best equity and, unlike MAYA, leaves bingo lanes available. #findingsmall
>Dave_Wiegand: ADPR 14A PRA..D +32 323
>Alec: ADEGLOV A12 VA.E +39 267
#note VAPE has the best equity, but Quackle likes 3K GALVO# for win rate. Despite scoring 14 fewer points than VAPE, GALVO keeps the much-better leave (DE) and opens a dangerous lane in column O that Dave will usually block, likely leaving column J open. Of course, this discussion is rendered moot by the fact that I didn't know GALVO. Other reasonable plays are C12 AVAL# and C13 VAG#. #questionable
>Dave_Wiegand: KT C13 T.K +27 350
>Alec: DEGILOW C2 .OWLEG +28 295
#note Quackle's choice is 3K GOWL#, which sacrifices 5 points to keep the E and make more high-scoring lanes on column N and, if I draw the S, column O. BOWLED and BLOWED are also better than BOWLEG, if only because a Z draw after BOWLED or BLOWED gives me B6 ZIG. #tacticssmall
>Dave_Wiegand: EINO 3J ONIE +20 370
>Alec: DEILOSV 2M DIV +17 312
#note This is clearly the best play by win rate, according to Quackle, winning about 1/8 of games. After DIV#, I have a chance to draw certain OVER- words such as OVERSAIL#; but perhaps more importantly, without certain vowels, Dave's blocks of column O open a new lane on column N.
>Dave_Wiegand: EIINRT O2 .ITRINE +33 403
#note Case in point:
>Alec: AELMOSS N8 MOLASSE +76 388
#note MOLASSE# is actually a big mistake, and I should attempt to go out with a bingo. 4A MOWS appears to be best, winning about 1/5 of games if Championship Player is to be trusted. #strategylarge
