>eddybear: AELORSZ 8D ZOEAL +48 48
#note Rd 3 Philly virtual 11-28-2021. Looks easy enough.
>skaplan31: AAGIJQU 9B QUAI +27 27
#note Looks fine under more traditional circumstances such as now. If this was the final game and I needed to not only win but make up spread to win the tourney, I definitely would have considered 9B QUA and hoped that Ed didn't have an I. E5 JIA(O) was also considered, but leaving AGQU didn't leave me with the most promising scoring prospects for next turn without giving something back to him.
>eddybear: DEILRST F7 R.LISTED +79 127
#note Nice fit.
>skaplan31: AEGGJPS 11B JAGG. +28 55
#note I did see 14A JAGGE(D) but that's just asking for trouble. No need to swing for the fences just yet.
>eddybear: AABIORY D11 .ABY +20 147
#note 12C BIOTA looks nice for him setting up his Y.
>skaplan31: EOOPSTY 12A YO +18 73
>eddybear: AEIIORU H8 .OUIE +6 153
>skaplan31: EFOPSTU G13 FOU +22 95
#note I definitely wasn't crazy about blocking my own S hook to LOUIE. He played LOUIE rather quickly which told me he probably had more vowels. While I do block LOUIES plays despite having the hook, I can at least hit UP- bingoes or even UP- plays that will get the right side to open up. So I was willing to sacrifice my own hook in the short term for better long-term board availablility.
>eddybear: AACEIIR A12 .ARE +21 174
>skaplan31: EMPSSTU 15G .MP +21 116
#note It's unfortunate that SEPTUMS doesn't play and it would have played if I didn't do FOU! Now I can make my Ss more valuable while playing through fewer tiles, which is part of the reason why this does sim ahead of 11H (I)MPUTE. Another reason is the leave, which in the short term might not mean a whole lot if Ed can come up with an effective block of some sort.
>eddybear: ABCEGII I13 GI. +8 182
#note Understandable if he's not gonna see or consider C11 AGA.
>skaplan31: EHSSTTU 13I .UEST +12 128
#note Maybe just J14 SH would have been fine, as much of an S telegraph as that is as well as GUEST. I clearly made a more desperate move than needed. #visionmedium
>eddybear: ABCEIOR M7 BORACI.E +66 248
#note And what is he doing with this if SH was played? I got lucky he didn't see L6 AEROBICS.
>skaplan31: ?EFHPST N8 FEH +37 165
#note While I did see 8L FOPS, I'm down 2 bingoes now. If I don't make something happen by opening up a 2nd dangerous lane, I'm gonna get slammed. I set up my T nicely, and if Ed doesn't have a T, that's gonna require a major sacrifice of points to block that. 8K PH(O)TS is another move that's fun to think about for forking purposes, but I just didn't feel that EF? was gonna help me, and that N10 hotspot was also a concern.
>eddybear: DEILNOW O9 DIOL +16 264
#note Turns out, he did end up playing this turn rather scared and did not see B11 (JO)WED for many more. Lucky me?
>skaplan31: ?ANPSST K8 rAPTN.SS +68 233
#note The problem with 15L PSST (even though it doesn't score that much less than Column K bingoes) was that Ed can just make a play into the E in GUEST and close off Column K himself. After PSST, I'll have a hard time opening the top of the board using Column L with only 2 As left. While I did not see PAsTN(E)SS in the same spot, it will be easier to open the top of the board up playing next to an R than a P. So I would have chosen this play anyway.
>eddybear: AEEINNW J6 WEAN +18 282
>skaplan31: ?AKOORV K3 ARVO +19 252
#note Didn't feel like giving Ed easy points with K4 AVO, and this move makes it harder for Ed to completely parallel than KAROO.
>eddybear: EEIILNR L1 LINE +16 298
#note Even L2 LIE might have been OK for him here.
>skaplan31: ?DKNNOR 3I DR..K +24 276
#note Perfect. Now he won't shut the board down so easily.
>eddybear: EEHINRV 2F VINE +18 316
>skaplan31: ?DENNOT 4C TENDONs +69 345
#note While iNDO(L)ENT got blocked, thank god this played.
>eddybear: CEHMRTX 1G METH +41 357
#note 1G HERM is 1 more point for him. Still no wins.
>skaplan31: ITW C1 TWI. +14 359
#note 3B WIT for 4 more. Don't throw away spread.

Sometimes, patience does pay off. But GUEST was too aggressive of a move. SH would have at least made Ed think about how to block better as opposed to giving him a spot for a bingo that didn't previously play. Way to grind this one out, 3-0.
