#description Created with Macondo
>skaplan31: ADEGOPX 8D POXED +36 36
#note Rd 1 Philly virtual 11-18-2021. Looks fine, wasn't looking to play shorter with GOX.
>Imperious: BDEIINT 9C BINIT +29 29
#note Normally ED is a better leave than IN, but I just don't think that's the case here if 7E DEBIT also parallels nicely and scores 5 more. ED is supposedly fine if he's hoping to hit 2x2s ending with ED, but I would do 7E DEBIT here.
>skaplan31: ABEGJOY 7G JOY +46 82
#note Easy enough.
>Imperious: ADEIMNS J7 SIDEMAN +76 105
#note Easy enough for him to bingo apparently. He still had bingoes, but J1 MEDINAS, MEDIANS, or MAIDENS are all 2 more.
>skaplan31: ?ABEGIR 12E BIGAR.dE +72 154
#note Wasn't exactly sure if 11F BREA(M)InG was a word or not, but it is. Even if I knew it was good, I do prefer to do this either way to minimize responses on Column H- Brendan doesn't have plays like (E)QUAL, R(E)ZONE, etc. Definitely wasn't doing BeRGE(N)IA or GA(M)BIERs either, which I did see. E5 BEG(ON)IA is another nice option for 40 saving the blank, but BIGARADE and BREAMING both top the sim.
>Imperious: AEEEORS 13B AERO +12 117
#note I really like K9 ERO(d)E here.
>skaplan31: FGLOOTW B10 FLO.T +32 186
#note E3 FOOTL(ON)G would have been a cool find, but I liked this much better anyway. Looks fine.
>Imperious: DEEINRS M6 DENIERS +71 188
#note While this and NEREIDS are basically the same play, the #visionsolid play here is 11H DE(M)INERS for 81!
>skaplan31: GILOPVW L4 PLOW +26 212
#note Maybe H12 AVOW is 4 points better and ditches the V?
>Imperious: CCEIRST 10B .ICES +38 226
#note Luckily he also missed Column H with H11 CACTI, although A6 CERCI is a nice option worth considering if he was ahead by a bingo.
>skaplan31: GHIRUVZ H12 .UGH +24 236
#note I considered 10L REZ at first, but once I realized how much more inflexible my options next turn would be keeping GHIUV (no spot for VUGH and the like on this board), I opted to dump some bad tiles and guarantee myself a nice play with the Z next turn by setting up 14F ZIG.
>Imperious: CEIIKRT 7C TEC +20 246
#note I really like H10 KI(AUGH) for him here. Doing M3 KI is risky without the case S on a rather closed board, and CEIRT pairs nicely with the open H.
>skaplan31: AAEIRVZ 14F ZA. +33 269
#note I liked choosing the more defensive option of this over 6B ZA for the same score.
>Imperious: AAGIIKR K9 ARI. +19 265
>skaplan31: AAEIRTV 5E VARIETA. +94 363
#note Wowzer. This one feels nice.
>Imperious: AEFGIKL N2 FLAKE +34 299
#note Looks fine with no more Is left. This is a nice play to keep me on my toes.
>skaplan31: AHMNORY 4F YAH +29 392
#note Unfortunately, I forgot FLOATY was a word and should have done NYAH or MYNAH at 15A. #findingsad
>Imperious: EGILOTV O1 VEIL +34 333
>skaplan31: MNNORTW 8M .OW +18 410
#note Blocking easy S bingoes on Row 15, can't imagine him bingoing from the W with this pool.
>Imperious: EGNOQTU K3 QU. +16 349
#note Nice play opening another line.
>skaplan31: MNNRSTU F4 ..M +14 424
#note For the same reason I did NOW last turn, I didn't feel that doing 10M EM was gonna help me here as he still has the H to use. Turns out, he could still bingo with (W)OODToNE if I draw the G or U out of the bag, which I didn't even spot, but 10M EM wouldn't have even stopped that from happening. I think that's why I win 4% more often after EM vs YAM, which seemed ridiculous. I'm trying to outrun potential bingoes better without emptying the bag.
>Imperious: DEGNOTU O8 .OUND +11 360
>skaplan31: ?NNRSTU 2J NaN +16 440
#note Passed up 15B SUNNa because that only allows me 1 spot to go out, 2B TOR/ROT. This way, I have 15H (H)URTS and 3C TRUST/STRUT/STURT. I did not see 15B SUTRa, but I would have passed that up anyway because that leaves me with no outs keeping NN.
>Imperious: EGOT 3H GO +11 371
#note Perhaps he didn't realize I had outs which is why he didn't think to do 3G EGO.
>skaplan31: RSTU C3 TRUS. +10 450
#note Survived a little scare there with QUA, I definitely didn't expect to draw the other blank right after YAM. QUA was a nice play which prompted me to think that he had it. Brendan played nicely and took advantage of me not seeing Row 15 plays with FLOATY (not that I understand why FLOATIE* can't be good). Good start.
