#description Created with Macondo
>skaplan31: EFIIILO -FIIILO +0 0
#note Rd 1 Philly virtual 9-5-2021. It does appear that keeping EL is a little better, I still bingo a reasonable % of the time with that combo. Not a huge mistake for the sake of turnover on the first turn and seemingly nothing to lose.
>eddybear: DEINRVW 8D WIVED +32 32
#note This or WIVERN look fine.
>skaplan31: EEGILTU F6 GU. +11 11
#note Looks fine, I give back less with this over 9G or 7G TEGU. Nothing is that good once again.
>eddybear: BHILNOR 9G HOB +27 59
>skaplan31: EEILOTT J8 TOILE +16 27
#note Not gonna score much once again. I did want something more open with this over J8 TOE or J6 TELOI; in this case, I set up my T for the TOILET hook as well as my E for ETOILE.
>eddybear: IILNORU 8J .URION +21 80
#note Ack, Ed blocked a nice turn that I had in mind! At least I can't blame him here, he needs to turn over some stuff himself, and it's not like he made a terrible move.
>skaplan31: ?EPQTUV N6 QU.TE +36 63
#note I was gonna do 8J (T)oQUET for 72 burning the blank until TURION came down. M7 P(I)QUETs did not even cross my mind, which would have been worth considering for play as PV isn't a very good combination to leave on this board. The same can be said about M7 P(I)QUET for only 6 less keeping the much better V? leave instead of PV?.
>eddybear: EILNPTX 7M X. +34 114
#note Looks good.
>skaplan31: ?AFPRVW 10H WA.F +21 84
#note Best play.
>eddybear: BEILNPT O10 NIBLET +35 149
#note I really like 11F PINTLE for 39 here. That's not the easiest play to spot.
>skaplan31: ?DEEPRV 13D REPaVED +70 154
#note 13G DEPRiVE or DEPRaVE for 90. Bad miss.
>eddybear: AAGIOPS C12 APO +40 189
#note That's why that miss was really magnified. APO and OPA are basically the same play with 2 Ds left and 2 Ls left.
>skaplan31: CEHIIKM 11C CHIME +32 186
#note I did not know O1 KIMCHI for 71! #knowledgequestionable
>eddybear: AGIRRSS 15A GAS +21 210
#note 11I G(L)AIR is worth it here- he can always score with his CAPOS hook next turn seeing I'm not super likely to block. A fancy move which I would not have spotted is D10 G(H)A(R)RI for 28 as well, but I would not have done it under the circumstances.
>skaplan31: ACFIIKN D10 C.I.K +38 224
#note There we go. Gotta love seeing this disconnected tiles move.
>eddybear: AEEIRRS C3 RERAISE +81 291
#note Except that glimmer of hope is temporarily gone. I knew he had another S after GAS, there was nothing I really could have done there.
>skaplan31: AAAFINU B6 FA +28 252
#note M10 FAUNA would have been OK- it keeps the top left open and some other hooks remain in the pool. #findingsmall
>eddybear: DGJLOOY 4A JO.Y +44 335
#note But it didn't stop that from happening. Nice play again Ed!
>skaplan31: ?AAILNU 15H ALIqUAN. +74 326
#note Who would have known I would benefit off of missing FAUNA? Still, I'm happy to have found this one.
>eddybear: ADGLNOT M11 DONG. +14 349
#note Considering GADJO* is no longer good, 11I GLAND is Ed's highest scoring move. He might as well try outrunning, and I'm lucky he didn't have an R. I was definitely expecting him to block Column A.
>skaplan31: AENRSTT A7 RATTENS +77 403
#note What a luckbox to draw this high probability bingo. We've both made some mistakes this game, but I'll take my likely win at this point.
>eddybear: AEELTYZ 5C .EZ +29 378
#note L11 AY for 23 appears to be Ed's only move that gives him a nonzero win % according to Championship Player. Postmortem, I wasn't seeing a winning sequence for him after L11 AY- after playing around with all possible draws, the closest loss I found for Ed was if he drew the S, my best move with DIMNOOR would be O2 NOMOI for 21 making the score 424-372, then he does E2 ZEST for 41 making it 424-413, then I do 6A FAD for 7 making it 431-413, then he has 14E EL making the final score 431-426 me. Feel free to post in the comments if you happen to figure out why L11 AY wins for Ed 1/8 of the time.
>skaplan31: DIMNOOR K10 .ID +21 424
#note However, now that Ed no longer has the Z, I can outrun pretty easily because I saw no out plays for him. This does block L11 AY which I knew would score decently for him.
>eddybear: AELSTY 3C .ESAY +18 396
#note I can also outrun 14B YOKS knowing I couldn't block that. And I had no out plays before he gave me one!
>skaplan31: MNOOR 2F MORON +30 454
#note How fitting to accidentally "call him one of these"?! Well, part of me wasn't exactly laughing during the game, and that wasn't exactly the case while annotating this one. Not exactly my best effort, but there's a thing or 2 called finding a way to win without having my best stuff.
