>skaplan31: FILLNRT - +0 0
#note Rd 1 Philly virtual 6-16-2021. I'm 2nd.
>BethMix: AAGIRVW 8G VAGI +16 16
>skaplan31: FILLNRT J6 FR.LL +18 18
#note Not much to score on this turn. If Beth had seen VIRGA on her previous turn, I still don't score that much, but I would have done E8 INFILL instead.
>BethMix: AIORRWX G8 .ROW +11 27
>skaplan31: EINORTV H11 OVINE +41 59
#note Her last move was definitely interesting. I did see 11E VOW but that doesn't eliminate the J spot effectively and I give up too many points to do that, plus I don't like risking that kind of play against someone lower rated. Q does like my play over VOW or H11 OVERT.
>BethMix: AAIMNRX F9 AM +22 49
#note Not sure what Beth was trying to go for here. I'm not exactly a fan of this play with so many Es left and that AR takes many front hooks. I do think a safer play is G13 XI.
>skaplan31: ?INRTUY E3 UNITaRY +74 133
#note Based on Beth's last move, I thought she was close to a bingo. I only saw 2 bingoes here, which were this and 13F TR(I)UNItY. This is definitely much safer than TR(I)UNItY in the sense that I don't risk giving up big 2x2s with so many Es left. I did not see E3 TURNIpY, but it's not so bad that I missed it in this case because while it does give up an X hotspot at D4, placing a blank P at 8E will make it harder for Beth to eventually open up Columns A thru C.
>BethMix: AIMNRTX D3 MAX +41 90
#note But she did hit an X play either way! I do prefer MIX in this position due to the open I in OVINE.
>skaplan31: AACEFGH C2 CAF +32 165
#note I do prefer this over FAG at this score to make the top unusable.
>BethMix: INRTTUY 6B UNI.Y +31 121
#note And Beth actually had 13C and 13F TRIUNITY here too. Kinda ironic that this wouldn't have actually been an option if I did TR(I)UNItY!
>skaplan31: AEEGHLN 8A HALE. +27 192
>BethMix: DOPPRTT G13 POD +21 142
>skaplan31: AEGKNSW 14F W..K +19 211
#note I did see K3 WEKA, K3 WEAK, K2 KNAWE, 11J SKEW, and 11J SWANK as well as this. My hope was that Beth might use Column K giving me something while keeping AEGNS on a board that's reasonably closed. I definitely wasn't making J11 plays with 3 more Ss left. AEGNS does work reasonably well with the HALER floaters, and there's no more Ys to deal with, so WONK wasn't gonna be worrisome.
>BethMix: BEPRTTT -BPTT +0 142
#note And WONK did limit what Beth could really do here. I don't mind the exchange.
>skaplan31: ACEEGNS K3 CAGE +19 230
#note So now her exchange 4 is random enough to where this could actually work out for me now.
>BethMix: EEIORTU L4 ROUE +21 163
#note Again not so easy here. I would have considered I13 UKE here, it doesn't go thru too many tiles while behind and if she draws 1 consonant, she'll be close to a bingo.
>skaplan31: AEHNNST M7 HANT +21 251
>BethMix: EIINTTU L10 UNIT +10 173
>skaplan31: EEINQSS J12 QIS +28 279
#note 14F (WONK)INESS is a very cool extension that I did not spot! But if it means getting rid of the Q, I would much prefer this any day.
>BethMix: ADEEIST C8 .EADIEST +70 243
#note She did have A8 HEADIEST for 89.
>skaplan31: ?EENOOS A8 .ONOrEES +80 359
#note Wowzer, this is the only bingo that plays. If Beth had seen HEADIEST, I would have done C8 (L)ONESOmE or (L)OOSENEd instead for less.
>BethMix: BDDOPRT D10 BOD +25 268
#note Looks fine.
>skaplan31: ABEERTZ M2 ZETA +33 392
#note Best play.
>BethMix: DEGIPRT 2M .IG +26 294
>skaplan31: BEEIJLR B5 J.R.L +15 407
#note I did see 8M AJI, but I purposedly passed that up as it it does give her TOPSIDER, RIPOSTED, DIOPTRES, and DIOPTERS to bingo out with.
>BethMix: DEOPRST N10 SPORT +23 317
>skaplan31: BEEI O2 .IBE +10 417
#note Ack, 10F MOB results in 4 more spread points! #visionsmall
>BethMix: DE O11 ED +14 331
#note B14 DE is 3 more for her. Good start so far.
>BethMix: (E) +2 333
