#note Rd 6 Philly virtual 5-23-2021. I'm 1st.
>skaplan31: DELNNRV 8E VEND +16 16
#note Standings going into Rd 6:

1st place 4-1 +340
2nd place is me 3.5-1.5 -18
3rd place 3-2 +50
4th place 2.5-2.5 +65

So I do need to win this game to win the tourney, otherwise, I'm finishing 3rd as only 1 of the 2 people in the 3rd/4th place game can leapfrog me. That's how bad my spread is at this time. Let's make the move I feel most comfortable making given that I don't have an S and I want more long-term availability with this placement over 8G.
>jammcc: BEHILLO 7F BOIL +18 18
#note Looks good.
>skaplan31: DLNPRSY F7 ..NDY +15 31
#note This play isn't bad. At least I found an OK way to play thru this rack, but the play I was looking for here was F7 (BE)RYL which I did miss. That would have given me another S hook to work with despite the slightly less synergistic DNPS leave. On the other hand, I think my play surprisingly sims a little better than BERYL because LPRS is more synergistic. #findingmedium
>jammcc: ABEEHLR 6G HAE +18 36
#note Lots of plays that are better than this use Column E for the ABOIL hook which Jamie most likely didn't see. E4 BEHAVE is a cool find.
>skaplan31: LNOPRRS 11B PORN. +20 51
#note 11E PYRROLS is clearly best here tho. This is a much bigger mistake than last turn.
>jammcc: BEEIKLR C9 BL.KE +28 64
#note Hm...
>skaplan31: DLOQRSW J3 WORDS +32 83
#note Right idea, J2 WORLDS this time.
>jammcc: ?EGGIIR 5I G.IG +16 80
#note Looks fine, I also like 5I GRIGRI here.
>skaplan31: CDFLQTT -CDFLQTT +0 83
#note Yea, I guess it luckily wouldn't have mattered too much by missing WORLDS on my previous turn.
>jammcc: ?CEIIRU 10F .IUREtIC +62 142
#note Only bingo for Jamie and a nice find.
>skaplan31: EEIMRST M2 TRISEME +81 164
#note This kind of play isn't hard to get right either.
>jammcc: FIRSTUW 8L W.FT +42 184
>skaplan31: ?AEJOUV 12A JO.E +54 218
#note Best play.
>jammcc: IILQRSU O4 QUIL. +24 208
#note Not sure if Jamie saw the BEDQUILT extension, but either way, I like N10 SQUIRL better.
>skaplan31: ?AAOTUV A12 .AVA +42 260
#note No bingoes exist. This is best.
>jammcc: AAEIRRS 3J .IR.A +8 216
#note I guess BEDQUILT is no more.
>skaplan31: ?ACOOTU M10 .OCO +16 276
#note I like my aggressiveness with my A hook and blank.
>jammcc: AAEIPRS 14I SPIRAEA +89 305
#note I guess that backfired. 10A CALO which I did not spot would have prevented his bingo.
>skaplan31: ?ADELTU 15A .DULATEd +77 353
#note Good comeback at least.
>jammcc: EHNNOYZ O11 ZON.E +45 350
#note Looks like the play.
>skaplan31: AEIMNOT 11H META +22 375
#note I did see plays at 2K such as META, MOTTE, and MATTE but let's score a similar amount of points without giving him a good scoring spot even with 1 A left. A 25 point lead on this board does feel like more than that, and while I did also see 12H ATOMIC, I think keeping 2 vowels is fine with this pool.
>jammcc: FHNSTTY 2M .HY +28 378
#note At least Jamie doesn't have to worry about the M anymore.
>skaplan31: AEINOUX 13C .XINE +23 398
#note This should outrun basically anything, but 13H EAUX outruns a little better. #findingsmall
>jammcc: FGNSTT I9 F..T +11 389
>skaplan31: AOU J13 U.O +5 403
#note I didn't see any out plays keeping OU besides this after O1 AY, so I will have O1 AY to myself next turn to guarantee the victory.
>jammcc: GNST O4 .....S +15 404
>skaplan31: A O1 A. +15 418
#note All righty...couple missed plays in the beginning but at least I recognized that even a 25 point lead was gonna be enough on this board. Despite my only +4 spread, I did end up .5 games ahead of Jamie's +318 spread! And fwiw, another tourney win because I didn't have to worry about the 3rd and 4th place game.
