#description Created with Macondo
>parteegirl: ?CINPRW H7 PIC +14 14
#note Context going into the final game: I'm 5-0 +663 and Connie is 4-1 +382. No one else in the division has more than 3 wins. Connie must beat me by at least 141 points in order to win the tourney, so I am perfectly happy to accept a small loss if it means making defensive plays that might be suboptimal under normal circumstances. I think this play is very nice as she can set up all sorts of hooks easily. This board will be hard to block with EPIC, PICS, PICA, etc. in play.
>skaplan31: EEIIQVY I6 QI +17 17
#note This kind of position only illustrates how difficult it will be to close the board after PIC. I could have also done 10F VIE, which I saw, but if Connie takes Row 10 next turn, I could also do VIE at J5 to make the top right hard to access. The top left is blocked effectively with this move, and I won't necessarily guarantee myself a way of getting rid of the Q next turn after VIE.
>parteegirl: ?AINORW J3 WARIsON +78 92
#note J4 RAINbOW is 9 more and slightly more open for her, which is what she needs when she has to make up spread to catch me. A very cool one which I would not have seen is 9H (C)ORdWAIN.
>skaplan31: EEITTVY 10F VIE +22 39
#note 3J WYTE if I was trying to make up spread, but not here.
>parteegirl: ?ADERTU 4E qUADR.TE +70 162
#note While this is an excellent find on her part, 3G DRA(W)TUbE forks extremely nicely and would have put me in a very precarious situation with 4 Ss still unseen to her, plus it scores 8 more.
>skaplan31: EELNTTY K8 NETTLY +22 61
#note 3J WETLY would have been a better play for the leave under normal circumstances to take out the QUADRATE hooks, but this play does also have merit as I can end the game faster to reduce the odds of a blowout by going thru 2 more tiles. This board won't be so favorable even if Connie hooks QUADRATE on her next turn.
>parteegirl: BCDGLST G3 C.D +9 171
#note This might do a good job of setting up her S in a 2nd spot, but I would have exchanged to slow the game down and upgrade the rack. Exchanging down to CS or ST are fine.
>skaplan31: EIISUXZ 5J .EX +33 94
#note Despite the S I'm keeping, I do like the defense of this play to finally get rid of the easy hooks.
>parteegirl: BGLLSTW -BGLW +0 171
#note She was kinda forced to do this.
>skaplan31: IISSSUZ E4 .UIZ +24 118
#note Defense again to take out the numerous CAD back hooks that still exist in the pool.
>parteegirl: LNNOOST 3L LOON +18 189
#note Nice play.
>skaplan31: AEISSST 2A TASSIES +75 193
#note While I did miss 13G ESSAYIST for 1 more, this would have been my play in this situation anyway.
>parteegirl: NNRSTUW 1A UN +14 203
#note I like 6D WIN here to set up her T and keep both 3x3s open.
>skaplan31: AAEEGIM O1 MA.GE +30 223
#note O1 MA(N)AGE, ME(N)AGE, and MA(N)EGE do keep better, but this gives back fewer good counterplays.
>parteegirl: NORRSTW L7 ROW +17 220
>skaplan31: AEEEILO 13I AI.EE +18 241
#note Didn't wanna do her work for her, but it's the only way I can score something and go thru some tiles.
>parteegirl: ABNRSTV 6D N.B +11 231
>skaplan31: DEHILOO 3C HO +22 263
#note Maybe 12I HOLO?
>parteegirl: AFGRSTV L2 F... +14 245
>skaplan31: DEEILOO 7C DO.E +22 285
>parteegirl: AGRSTVY B7 ARTY +30 275
#note B6 VASTY is 42 for her. This board won't be entirely closed anytime soon.
>skaplan31: EILLMOR A10 MOILER +34 319
#note Good for finding a scoring play, but Rs are better to keep than Ls on this board, so MOLLIE in the same spot would have been a little better. #findingsmall
>parteegirl: EFGOSTV 8A F.OG +39 314
#note Nice play.
>skaplan31: ADEHILP 12C HELIPAD +81 400
#note With this pool, this bingo will basically win the game for me. So much for all that defense in the beginning.
>parteegirl: AEGNSTV 14F VANG +21 335
#note Looks good to me- she sets up 15G TES and I gotta get some high pointers off my rack.
>skaplan31: ABJKRU M12 J.RK +15 415
#note M10 JAKER would be a couple points better. Not a huge deal in this case with the tourney locked up.
>parteegirl: EST 15G TES +23 358
#note TADA!

Definitely played the way I needed to early on, and when the board was no longer closable, the spread was kept to a minimum and I'm glad to have a late bingo that played in more than 1 spot. Gotta love going 6-0.
