#description Created with Macondo
>jlevedit: ?ADEEIO -EIO +0 0
#note Rd 1 Philly virtual 4-11-2021. Couple plays are fine which include -AEO, -AEIO, and 8H ODEA.
>skaplan31: IMRRTTX 8G MIXT +26 26
#note I did also consider 8F TRIM to undouble the R too, but I decided that the extra 12 points was worth it as the X isn't always a good tile to keep early on. Q agrees.
>jlevedit: ?AABDDE 9B ABrADED +72 72
#note Jay's best bingo. Also playable are J8 (T)ABArDED, 9A and 7A ADDABlE, and J1 DEADBeA(T).
>skaplan31: CERRTTV E7 TR.VE +16 42
#note Missed a 2x2 E5 RETRACT for 36. I didn't want to do anything that was gonna make the top of the board hard to access which is why I passed up CRAVE, CARVE, VAREC, or CARVER on Column B or E. This provides a nice fork.
>jlevedit: EHLLOOW 10B WO +30 102
#note Not bad, but 12C HOLLOW does play for 41.
>skaplan31: CCIINRT D11 RICIN +18 60
#note Again, making the top as easy to open as possible. C9 BOCCI, which I did not see, might have kept a generally better leave, but INRT isn't that good on this board without a floating A or E. I like keeping Jay on his toes.
>jlevedit: EGHLLOO 10E .OG +20 122
#note Plays ending in -ED on Column F are extremely nice finds!
>skaplan31: AACFITV 15B FA.ATIC +36 96
#note Wasn't crazy about making parallels more difficult to make on Row 14, but this does score more than anything else. I did see 14B AVIATIC, but that would mean giving Jay a nice scoring opportunity in order for me to open the right up.
>jlevedit: ?EHILLO 8A OH +24 146
#note The only bingo I would have seen here is OILHOLE in several spots.
>skaplan31: EHNNQSV -HNQV +0 96
#note I just had to tunnel vision on exchanging. 14A VENIN is 30, and it would have been worth playing thru this rack. #visionbad
>jlevedit: ?EEILLN 7H LEI +20 166
#note His best bingo here was D2 LoNELIE(r). I did not know (C)hENILLE or LEN(T)IcEL.
>skaplan31: AEENSSZ 6J ZEN +64 160
#note I would not have had a big Z play if he saw any bingo. Got lucky to benefit off of his mistake. ZEN and ZA both top the sim, but I felt that ZA was gonna be addressed easily by Jay.
>jlevedit: ?AELNTU 13D .LEANoUT +60 226
#note Nice find by Jay, but I think 13B NU(C)LeATE or La(C)UNATE are better options for him. L4 TE(N)AcULA is an interesting defensive option to take out the MEG hooks and promote board closing overlaps on Column K.
>skaplan31: AEHIOSS 14J HOISE +47 207
#note Best by far and the S hook that I'm keeping won't always get blocked as this does score nicely.
>jlevedit: AABOORS 15L SORB +28 254
#note Hmm...
>skaplan31: AEGIJSU D4 JUGA +26 233
#note Looks good.
>jlevedit: AAIOOSY 14A YO +20 274
>skaplan31: AEIIPQS 5B EQ.IP +32 265
#note Close between this and 5C QUAI. Since I have the AJUGA hook, by doing this it will be hard for Jay to close that down unless he plays on Column B, which that won't even block that off entirely.
>jlevedit: AAILLOS L4 LA.AI +12 286
#note Interesting
>skaplan31: ADEIOSU 6B DI. +27 292
#note Spent some time here. I don't normally want to keep 4 vowels, but since Jay just played off 2 As, that changes everything for me. I can now leave the AJUGA hook open (which won't always be easy for him to close down without giving up many points) since I have the last A, and because there are only 6 vowels unseen to me out of 25 tiles. That's insane. The A is also crucial for the MEGA hook, and while 3D ADIEU might be better equitywise, I can't just let Jay score easy points with that play.
>jlevedit: EELNOST K3 TEL. +14 300
#note That is a nice play.
>skaplan31: AEEMOSU 6F OE +10 302
#note Another unconventional move. Jay is most likely keeping the last S after TELE. He clearly needs vowels, and I'm gonna play mine in a way that won't allow him to score that much. It would be reasonably unlikely for him to bingo.
>jlevedit: EFNOPST 11G SOFTEN +25 325
#note I might have done 12G FOP here- it only scores 5 less and keeps his valuable S. After he made this play it seemed like he didn't know STELE was good.
>skaplan31: AEMNSUV M2 VUM +21 323
#note Now I didn't have to worry about the OVUM hook after his last play.
>jlevedit: DEGKNPR A12 PR. +11 336
>skaplan31: AENRRSW 3C WARNERS +87 410
#note Or WARRENS in the same spot. Fortunate to be able to go up against that pool and realize that I was at an advantage. He also seemed to miss the AJUGA hook when he did LANAI.

Good start to this one and that's a lot of points I'm getting from him.
