#note Rd 6 Philly virtual 3-28-2020. I have never played this person before, and I'm up by a game and a lot of spread. I just need to not lose by too much and keep a controlled board. The best move was 8D WAKAME for 38, and that is not a word I knew.
>skaplan31: AEGGISU K3 GAUGES +28 28
#note This over GIGUES to not give back J5 AX.
>jammcc: ?ABEIMV L2 VIM +27 49
#note No bingoes exist. This looks OK.
>skaplan31: EGIOQRV M3 GIVER +35 63
#note Qs are annoying but I can stomach keeping it when I can score well by playing off 5 tiles.
>jammcc: ?ABEEHJ 7F JAB +23 72
#note Interesting call. If I needed to make up spread, I'd make the aggressive move of N6 HE.
>skaplan31: AEIOOQT 9F QAT +25 88
#note Mhm
>jammcc: ??CEEHZ 10H HaZE +44 116
#note Jamie would have done nicely with 6K GEEZ.
>skaplan31: DEHINOO 11K HOE +22 110
#note That just gave me a critical piece of info. Jamie is most likely keeping the other blank most likely and I now gotta do something. I guess since I can't block that well without scoring very little, I pretty much gotta bite the bullet.
>jammcc: ?CEEIOY -EIOY +0 116
>skaplan31: ADINORT N10 ADROIT +26 136
#note DIATRON doesn't play, wonderful. If Jamie is gonna bingo anyway even after I do L9 ODOR, maybe do that instead. This was too aggressive. #strategylarge
>jammcc: ?CEILOU O4 CIbOULE +85 201
#note No shocker there. Nice find Jamie!
>skaplan31: ENNORSY L10 R.NYON +36 172
#note Easily best.
>jammcc: ACEEITU 15K U.I.E +15 216
#note Phew
>skaplan31: ABDEINS 11B BANDIES +80 252
#note Yep
>jammcc: ACDERST C8 CAD.STER +74 290
#note Come on are you serious
>skaplan31: EIOOPUY 15A OU.IE +18 270
#note Very rough spot. I can only hope to draw a -CY play at 8A and fork the board.
>jammcc: AEFILOT 8A FI.O +30 320
#note This is being done for me somehow. Jamie does need spread in order to catch me so I can't exactly blame this move.
>skaplan31: DLNOPSY 13K P.L.N +20 290
#note Not doing 14E PYLON giving up a huge X spot.
>jammcc: AAEILMT 14B M.AT +24 344
#note 12A MISEAT is 35.
>skaplan31: DLORSWY F11 .DLY +34 324
#note Good finding again and keeping the game close. I can pretty much lock the tourney up if the result of 3rd/4th place game isn't a blowout.
>jammcc: AEILNOP 12A PE.O +26 370
>skaplan31: NORSTWX 9B T.X +21 345
#note Seeing this game is already lost, I do have to block the possibility of INFLATOR, FLATIRON, or RELATION thru the O in FICO to save spread. That would happen with an E and F draw, respectively, 2/8 of the time.
>jammcc: AEFILNT B6 FL.. +15 385
#note Jamie would have had an out with 5E ANTIFLU as well. But, this is still hard to block without giving up another out of TENIA, ENTIA, or TINEA.
>skaplan31: NORRSW N1 WOS +18 363
#note Not that I really have a choice but to allow the out play.
>jammcc: AEINT C2 ENTIA +15 400
#note OK then. I was certainly kept under pressure especially after HaZE. ADROIT was too aggressive regardless of perceived range given the game situation and tourney situation. I'm glad I saw RONYON to make up for that potentially disastrous blunder and make the 3x3 much harder to hit, and if the T was 1 position further left, LEUcO(T)IC or LEUkO(T)IC as 3x3s would have been in play. I did end up winning this tourney because the game below me wasn't a blowout; the spread that game was like 50 or something.
