>Samuel_Kaplan: AFHTTUZ 8G FUTZ +32 32
#note Rd 3 NYC Virtual 2-18-2021. Easy enough.
>Lynn_Cushman: DJLOPTU J4 PLOT. +18 18
#note Nothing particularly wrong here, keeping JU isn't normally ideal but this is a good plan to maximize scoring potential in the future. 7D JUDO is only 1 more.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AHIIOTU K2 THIO +22 54
#note I think 4J PITHOI was the kind of play I was looking for if I want to have a consonant to play thru and a vowel to play thru on different parts of the board to bail out any kind of draw. This isn't that good of a play.
>Lynn_Cushman: ADJMRSU L1 JAMS +61 79
#note And I paid for it bigtime. Nice play.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEIORTU 1L .IAO +33 87
#note Good thing she gave me the J. Easily the move.
>Lynn_Cushman: DEELRUY 2N YE +22 101
#note Looks fine.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEENRTU G8 .EU +7 94
#note This is the move that ended up making a huge difference in this game. Lynn definitely wasn't keeping the X after YE, otherwise she would have done XI in that spot already. If I was ahead, I would have been more inclined to do I7 UTE instead and force Lynn to use Row 7 or 9 if she doesn't have any of the PIS hooks. I got spanked for this.
>Lynn_Cushman: DELPRUX F10 XU +50 151
#note That's the worst thing that could happen at this score and given the nature of this board.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AELNNRT -LN +0 94
#note Another brutal turn. 6H ANOLE was considered to fork the board, but I'm only scoring 13 points and a more random rack is probably gonna hurt me more than help me. Q likes 11E NU but even that's gonna do Lynn's work for her.
>Lynn_Cushman: DEEILPR J4 .....ED +23 174
#note Ugh. The perfect defensive play was made by her.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEINORT 4J ...O +6 100
#note I hate having to score so little again but it looks fine. This was the long term consequence of FEU over UTE.
>Lynn_Cushman: EIILPRW I8 .WIRP +26 200
#note At this score she might as well outrun over doing I6 WIT.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEINRTV 12I .RIVATE +26 126
#note One of the tiles I didn't need to draw. Maybe if the score was closer and the board was more conducive to bingoes I would have exchanged the V. I pretty much need to do this if I wanna have a chance. 11D VAU might be the best equity move but even if I do bingo, I'm not gonna get back in this game that quickly. PAVIN does fork OK and sets up my E, but there's too many Es left and bingoes that hook TWIRP will probably get paralleled.
>Lynn_Cushman: ?AEEILV N5 LEAVIEs. +64 264
#note N8 LEVI(T)AtE is 22 more but I do understand her making the safer play when there's not much to work with on this board besides the TWIRPS hook.
>Samuel_Kaplan: EGILNNS 8L GI.E +30 156
#note Can't see how fishing for a bingo will get me back in this one... Lynn will take the 8L spot if I don't to outrun me easily.
>Lynn_Cushman: ?BEINOT M7 B.O +19 283
#note Her best move.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AGLNNRS K11 G.RN +10 166
#note Need to make something happen...
>Lynn_Cushman: ?AEILNT 15G NAILsET +76 359
#note Not meant to be.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEKLNRS 13C RANKLES +88 254
#note Merely a spread cutter at this point. Nothing will stay open as expected.
>Lynn_Cushman: CEIOORS B13 COO +24 383
#note Looks good again.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ACDNSWY 15A C.WY +48 302
>Lynn_Cushman: EFINRRS 12D FE +22 405
#note D10 FRI(A)R(Y) is a move to make when behind. She played this right.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AABDENS 14E DA +17 319
#note Setting up my B for a better 2-move score over doing 11E BUD, which I saw, as keeping AAENS literally won't do anything on this board.
>Lynn_Cushman: EGINRRS 7M ..R +7 412
>Samuel_Kaplan: ABEINQS O4 QI +23 342
#note I'll have to wait a turn to execute my original plan because of this nuisance.
>Lynn_Cushman: AEGINRS M12 .G +6 418
>Samuel_Kaplan: ABDENST 11E B.D +34 376
#note Finally. Another nice spread cutter, but I can't see myself bingoing and getting back in this one.
>Lynn_Cushman: AEINRSU O12 .ARN +12 430
>Samuel_Kaplan: ADENOST N1 ..E +6 382
#note Blocking HMM/MO.
>Lynn_Cushman: EHIMNSU J1 MU +11 441
>Samuel_Kaplan: ADNOST 1H DA. +18 400
>Lynn_Cushman: EHINS L10 HI.E +17 458
#note I was low on time so she decided to force me overtime knowing she already was. Pretty genius strategy on her end.
>Samuel_Kaplan: NOST 9I ..T +6 406
>Lynn_Cushman: NS - +0 458
#note She was down to like 2 seconds left when she already went a minute OT otherwise she would have lost the game. In a real game, I'm sure she would have found 11K (GI)N(s).
>Samuel_Kaplan: NOS H1 .ONS +6 412
#note And that's a wrap to this ugly affair.

This game could have gone much differently if I had done UTE over FEU. Based on her not keeping the X (she would have had to draw the X which she miraculously did), I did end up making the more aggressive play and that in combination with close but no cigar racks proved to firmly sink me before I could really do much. Well played game Lynn!

Final score was recorded as 448-406 in Lynn's favor as we both went 1 minute overtime.
