#description Created with Macondo
>jlevedit: EEGIRTT - +0 0
#note Rd 1 of Philly virtual 2-7-2021. I'm first.
>skaplan31: ILMMNNR 8E LIMN +12 12
#note Against someone not so defensive, 8G is better. Against Jay, this is better. LIMN is pretty much the only decent word to play.
>jlevedit: EEGIRTT E7 G.ITTER +16 16
#note While TERGITE might be unplayable, he did have RINGETTE for 60. I'm surprised he made this open of a play here, I would have expected 9D GITE or 7D TEG to come down based on this rack.
>skaplan31: MNOORSS D12 MORN +24 36
#note I'm not playing an S for 23 or 24 as I can score the same amount withoug burning an S. I did this over MOON in the same spot because of the open N in LIMN, and I did this over MONO because there's no open vowels to play through. OSS seems more flexible here than RSS or NSS as a leave.
>jlevedit: AEGIJNO 15A JOI. +33 49
#note I would have done JEON here- AGIN is very powerful, and the extensions wouldn't exist.
>skaplan31: AELOQSS 9D Q. +11 47
#note This does support my more open board approach better than 10C QAT- if I don't draw a bingo next turn, I can use Column C next turn to make parallels that can set up my letters. In this case, I can set up my S on Column B by making short parallels on Column C.
>jlevedit: AEEEEGN 6E AGEE +18 67
#note Neat. His best play too.
>skaplan31: AELOSSU C12 EL +15 62
#note Maybe 12D MEOU is better in this case considering I drew a U, but this is what I was talking about last turn.
>jlevedit: EEILNOO H1 OLEIN. +21 88
#note I can understand Jay passing up 7G LOOIE or LOONIE because I just fished off EL last turn. I think this play is fine, 10A OOLITE is interesting but aggressive.
>skaplan31: AEGOSSU B6 GASEOUS +70 132
#note It all worked out nicely.
>jlevedit: AEELOOT A7 TOOL +24 112
#note He had the right idea, but A3 OLEATE is a very nice parallel for 32.
>skaplan31: BEKRSTV 3G K.RB +16 148
#note G1 BERK for 10 more is clearly better than this. #visionmeh
>jlevedit: ADEENRR 9G EARNED +16 128
#note I think 15A (JOIN)ER or 2H LEARNED are stronger plays than this. Good leaves are fine on this board, but taking the extra points with LEARNED is also reasonable.
>skaplan31: EPRSSTV 8K PERVS +41 189
#note I did not know K5 VESPERS. I could have extended JOIN with JOINTERS for 4 more here, but PSV isn't a great leave on this board. Q likes this over VESPERS or JOINTERS.
>jlevedit: AADEORY 10H YEAR +26 154
>skaplan31: AANSTUU 11K TUNA +20 209
#note Right idea, TAU is less risky than this.
>jlevedit: AADFHHO 12L HAHA +39 193
#note HAAF is better in this spot.
>skaplan31: ADFPSUV 13M PAD +31 240
#note Nothing stands out, might as well just hang onto the S here instead of doing 13M VAS. Thank god for him doing HAHA, he clearly wasn't keeping the Z after that. VAS is in a tight race with PAD in the sim because the S has somewhat limited value on this board besides the NAPS hook and Column O bingoes.
>jlevedit: DEEFOUY C6 ODE +18 211
>skaplan31: ?FSUVWZ -FUVW +0 240
#note Do I exchange the Z with FUVW here? I decided to keep the Z with many Is left such that I can hit Column L bingoes ending in -IZED. On the other hand, I won't score that well with the Z very often on this board except for 14J ZEDS or Column O bingoes. The sim had exchaning down to SZ? and just S? in a tight race. I'm still 85% to win after each move, so I really could go either way in case I don't draw a bingo.
>jlevedit: CEFOTUY 14J CUTE +18 229
#note I would do 4J YOU here.
>skaplan31: ?CIINSZ L4 ZINC.. +36 276
#note Missed L1 SiNICIZ(ED) for 92. I did know this one, no excuses. This is best nonbingo play.
>jlevedit: DFOUVWY O5 VOW. +10 239
#note Figured this would get blocked.
>skaplan31: ??IIIIS 10D I. +13 289
#note Well this is one of the funnier racks I've ever drawn in live tourneys or in virtual tourneys. And this pool is so ugly that when One Direction walked toward it, they suddenly turned the other direction.
>jlevedit: ADFUWXY K5 XU +38 277
#note I would have done N6 WAVY here, I can't block XU that often with the pool that's unseen to him.
>skaplan31: ??FIIIS 6K ..I +3 292
#note This guarantees me a win over doing 15A (JOIN)IngS or O1 dISa(VOWS) because this blocks N6 WAVY. Jay clearly can't score very well with his clunky rack after I block N6 WAVY as well as 6F FUN.
>jlevedit: ABDFTWY 1G F.B +8 285
#note Jay most likely only saw my out plays of FISsI(O)n, etc. thru the O in FOB which is why he took this spot. He could have blocked (JOIN)IngS with I13 YAW or FAY, which would have prompted me to do O1 dISa(VOWS) for 36 knowing he can't go out with whatever he decides to keep.
>skaplan31: ??FIIS 15A ....IngS +39 331
#note You know it's an ugly game when so many high point consonants are unseen to me and I collect as many Is as I did.
>jlevedit: ADTWY M3 YA +21 306
#note 5F AWNY would have given him 5 more spread points over this.
>skaplan31: FI F4 FI. +7 338
#note Not sure why I didn't do G13 FIG for 2 more.

Even in Division 1, not every game is gonna be pretty. But, I found a way to grind it out in the end. Missing SINICIZED was just very bad though.
