Game 3
So far so good.
>Banman1: CHILRUV 7G UH +14 14
>kacattac: AEINPRS K2 PANIERS +79 99
#note Darn, RAPINES avoids creating a hotspot.
>Banman1: CDILRSV 3J C.RD +14 28
>kacattac: AIIMNTU 5F MINUT.A +9 108
#note Totally froze up here. Need to come up with some sort of new-agey psych strategy for refreshing myself when focus dissipates. I did see INTIMA on my rack, and I did look for under/overlaps in the middle of the board. Was very intent on creating an open board and allowed that intent to blind me from finding my best option for doing so.
>Banman1: AEILSUV F3 VU. +8 36
>kacattac: DHIINQT 9F QI +16 124
#note This lost the game and was a far worse play than its middling sim status indicates. Instead of thinking, "He's setting up O(VUM), so it's ok to set myself up elsewhere," I should think, "Maybe he's just fishing, and besides, O(VUM) is in a sort of restricted area and is not actually going to hit all that much, but he's definitely close to a bingo with a play like that, so I should not give him a better spot for it. It sucks if I sacrifice equity and he bingos off of CARD anyway, but at least a bingo over there would give back a lot too. I have the lead and word knowledge advantage, so don't just give stuff away." Alternatively, I could look much harder for scoring plays than I did and eventually find 4D DH(U)TI. I can even exchange, which sims terribly, and I knew it would, but I think it's far superior to QI here when inferences and personal history are considered. FML.
>Banman1: AEEILRS 10B REALISE +78 114
>kacattac: DHIMNTX 11H MIXT +30 154
#note Sim wants me to play long in the lower left, potentially giving back a ton. This MIXT seems fine and definitely not like a 5 point mistake. Why would I blow open a tws lane when I still have tempo even after his bingo?
>Banman1: ?DEIKTW D9 W.KED +26 140
>kacattac: ABDEHNO 8A OBEAH +48 202
#note I'm always slightly queasy about the WAKED family of words, but fortunately mom drilled me on this from an early age, and I've drilled myself on it recently too.
>Banman1: ?DEILNT A2 DeLETI.N +59 199
>kacattac: DGNOTUV H1 VODU. +30 232
#note Hated this since I'm probably not bingoing after it, but it does sim best by a mile.
>Banman1: ?EGINOR 13B OR.ErING +74 273
>kacattac: EGNOPST 2E POG. +20 252
#note It's not that I'm getting outdrawn, it's that I don't deserve to win after MINUTIA and QI. At least by fixating on O(VUM) for half the game I am now able to see this best play fairly quickly.
>Banman1: BEILOST A13 BIO +27 300
>kacattac: EENSTTW B12 W.T +16 268
#note Feels like rearranging the proverbial deck chairs at this point. Sim likes stealing some extra points by playing at B1. I think I really need to keep column C open; also that B1 plays just give back huge parallel counterplays anyway. But admittedly with WOT I am giving up hope of outrunning and relying solely on getting a big bingo down, which maybe isn't the smartest strategy.
>Banman1: CEJLOST B1 JOT +27 327
>kacattac: EEEGNST H13 .EG +12 280
#note This sims best, and that just tells you what a terrible position I've created for myself.
>Banman1: ACELOSZ C2 LAZE +34 361
>kacattac: EEENSTY B5 YE +17 297
#note Sim's favorite gambit is not going to work against a human being. M5 EYNE looks interesting though, wish I'd thought of that. My YE sims slightly worse.
>Banman1: ACLORSY D4 ARC +39 400
>kacattac: EEINOST 15G E.ESTION +60 357
>kacattac: (AALORSY) +20 377
