>Alan_Kraus: AANORTT 8H TAROT +12 12
#note 1st game of Ed Roth's mini 4 gamer on 1-17-2021. Alan missed ARNATTO to start the game.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ABCHTWY L4 CHAT.Y +28 28
#note Note here: I don't know Alan's game at all. Decided to keep more than 1 vowel open in different spots and consonants in different spots to bail out any kind of random draw. Maybe CHAW 9F is more like it, BW sucks.
>Alan_Kraus: AEINOOQ 7G QI +23 35
>Samuel_Kaplan: ABFIIRW J6 WI.RA +18 46
#note Didn't feel like being aggressive yet against random racks against an unknown player, hence I passed up 6K and 5K plays. Maybe 6H FIB is more like the kind of play I was looking for here.
>Alan_Kraus: AELNOOV M9 ALONE +18 53
#note K10 LAEVO or NOVAE are better for him, the V isn't gonna help him here.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AABFGII L11 GIB +23 69
#note Right idea. GIF is better equitywise, but GIB is easier to hook now that Alan just opened Column N. Neither leave with these moves are very good.
>Alan_Kraus: LMOORUV N9 MOR +23 76
>Samuel_Kaplan: AAAFINT 4F FANATI. +13 82
#note No move scores well so I decided to go for turnover here. Nothing really stands out. I could have just done 5K AHA, but it's kinda hard to hook anything on this board without an E or S for the most part, hence not many 7s would actually play even if I drew any. This and 10E ANTIFA accomplish more turnover but give back a lot. Wasn't entirely sure what to do here.
>Alan_Kraus: AILOUVZ 3G ZOA +49 125
#note Unfortunately he just drew the Z.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AADEIKO 5K D.AK +30 112
#note Again nothing is extremely good here. Chose to take the points. I have an E now for Row 14 plays but let's see if that even helps.
>Alan_Kraus: ?EIILUV -IILUV +0 125
#note I think 14J VIE is worth it here for 21.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?AEGIOU 5C AGUE +15 127
#note 5F AGO seemed too aggressive at this score, again nothing super good here. Let's blast it open after his exchange 5.
>Alan_Kraus: ?DEMPRR C2 PRE.RMeD +84 209
#note Unlucky. This is the only bingo that plays.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?DEIOOU K12 DOE +13 140
#note Maybe D7 UDO is better for the leave but there's no more As for Column B plays.
>Alan_Kraus: DEEILSS O2 DIESELS +90 299
#note Are you serious
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?EIOTUY N5 .YE +33 173
#note Gotta score man, gotta score. I can still draw OUT- bingoes so no need to give up 12 points to do N13 YOU.
>Alan_Kraus: CGILSUV 15H VUGS +29 328
#note 8A CL(e)VIS does play for 42, and while he probably didn't see that, this is also a very good play to make.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?IJNOTU B9 OUTJINx +83 256
#note He did block the first bingo I saw, 14D JOINTUr(E), but thank god I saw this one. How is this a word? Idk. It's a 7 letter expression that's legal to play on a Scrabble board, and that's my definition for it.
>Alan_Kraus: CEHILNO A6 CHON +31 359
#note I got lucky that he missed D8 HELICON for 94 and A3 HELICON for 93. If I'm in his spot, I would have definitely done it at A3.
>Samuel_Kaplan: EENNOWX N2 EX +33 289
#note While I did miss D8 XENON, it's actually not that big of a deal here because I clearly need another bingo to get back in this game. XENON is basically conceding the game already.
>Alan_Kraus: EEILRSU 12B .EU +20 379
#note I'm shocked he missed D8 LEISURE imo, even though this is amazing defense.
>Samuel_Kaplan: EILNNOW 13A W.N +16 305
#note D8 WIN for 7 more is better. Still not looking too good.
>Alan_Kraus: EFILPRS D7 IF +21 400
#note He did have 1H PILFERS here for 99.
>Samuel_Kaplan: EILNOTV O11 ENVOI +32 337
#note TEX#...ack! That explains this VIOLENT unluckiness here.

The only 7s that I saw for him in this pool were BELIERS, REPLIES, and SPIELER. This does cut spread nicely unless the B or P are in the bag which is only 2/8s of the time...

>Alan_Kraus: EEILPRS 1H REPLIES +90 490
#note And the B is not what I was looking to draw.

Despite his missed bingoes, my scoring options were sucky in the beginning and he prevailed. I do have a hole to climb out of.
