>Joshua_Sokol: EGHIIPU H7 PIU +10 10
#note hard to resist opening with PIU when it's optimal or close to. PUGH is probably better in this particular situation against this particular opponent. Would want an opener board.
>Bob_Frey: IIIII -IIIII +0 0
>Joshua_Sokol: EEGHISZ 8F GH. +7 17
#note hopefully he's in the sandbox now, but I'm really just making this harder on myself if I don't strike early. H(U)G or H(U)GE is often fine, ZE(P) as well. #questionable AF
>Bob_Frey: EIOV F6 VO.IE +19 19
#note yeah that didn't work out ugh
>Joshua_Sokol: EEEIOSZ -EEO +0 17
#note I should probably do E(V)E now that I'm not longer at a clear positional advantage. If I exchange down to EIOSZ again I bingo more, but not sure I really want that here, I think the more scoring/balanced SIZE is better here if I am to exchange. I just have to not play scared...
>Bob_Frey: CIPY I9 PYIC +21 40
#note super ugh
>Joshua_Sokol: AEFIISTZ E10 FIZ +35 52
#note forced
>Bob_Frey: AAHN 12C HA.AN +34 74
>Joshua_Sokol: ACEESTU B12 CUE +30 82
#note forced again.
>Bob_Frey: ADEIU 15A ADIEU +28 102
>Joshua_Sokol: AEEOOST J9 OE +16 98
#note oof, this was not happy times.

Perhaps (C)OOEE here? I'm not liking this corner I have painted myself in.
>Bob_Frey: EINORRS K4 REIRONS +76 178
>Bob_Frey: EINORRS -- -76 102
#note humongous break
>Joshua_Sokol: AEEIOST G10 EO. +9 107
#note he plays PRISONER last turn, I have no response worth a single Bourbon Street damn. Now, the only blocking play is T(OE) and that really just delays his superior rack a turn or two, and leaves me with 4V2C, way too many vowels and not many outs. BCGHPRTUV hit his response of (T)ONIER. If something like RIN/YER, it's not terrible I guess. ON or IN K8 as a response is basically as bad as it can get, but that's really bad. DNRT save me, otherwise I'm behind a tempo and have a clearly worse rack. I avoid a lot of this if I just fish and leave PRISONER. He may not see it, but I am pretty confident he will. I bingo 75% of the time after EO(N) + PRISONER, which is probably a bit less than I expect him to see PRISONER, but this is not a math equation that has any bearing on my reasoning, I'm just trying desperately to end the sentence.
>Bob_Frey: EINORRS 7H .RISONER +62 164
>Joshua_Sokol: ADELSTT O4 STA.TLED +80 187
#note lucky me (I guess)
>Bob_Frey: GIW N10 WIG +31 195
#note this was also fortunate
>Joshua_Sokol: DELNORT 6L DON. +16 203
#note oh god not another position with a lot to think about

I want to block scoring spots a decent chunk more than average here, which is why I chose DON(A) over DOL(T) or dropping the D, D(U)EL 13A leaves everything open though, and scores, so perhaps I should bite the bullet.

#questionable
>Bob_Frey: GMU 5K GUM +21 216
>Joshua_Sokol: ELLORTY K10 TELLY +22 225
#note sick block, though I guess it was pretty likely. This was a huge blunder since TELLY takes an S! I would like to say that I knew this and it was an exploitative move, but it wasn't. Optimally TROLLY is the best play here despite hanging the Y. Or just CLOY or COLY for safesies. #knowledgequestionable #tacticsfail
>Bob_Frey: BMN 13A N.MB +34 250
>Joshua_Sokol: ?BEIORV L9 BIRO +25 250
#note BI J14 sims best cause of TELLYS. SMH
>Bob_Frey: AAIKQSS J6 Q. +31 281
>Joshua_Sokol: ?EFLRVX 14J X.LEm +60 310
>Bob_Frey: AAIKOSS C11 O.. +8 289
>Joshua_Sokol: AFRRTVW -FRVTAW +0 310
#note it is imperative now to go for the J or K for a hook on UDO, as well as some good tiles. WAR or FAR aren't going to cut it, despite scoring. It's at best an even game if he can score 30+ and I still have crap. Perhaps throw them all away though, but the R was pretty useful for RAJ and balance in general.
>Bob_Frey: N 7E N. +2 291
>Joshua_Sokol: DEKORST L4 K... +18 328
#note O13 TSK is an option here as well, but this seemed very strong. He could very well have a bingo ending in A at this point. He's less than 1/13 to have TAJ or RAJ, which applies positively to both plays, but more to mine since it will still be a threat if I don't block now. I think I can handle being up 37 on this board. #questionable
>Bob_Frey: INT 15M TIN +12 303
>Joshua_Sokol: DEORSTT D5 TROD +10 338
#note this seems good. I need to keep scoring. I think I'll be able to block most openings, or I might not need to, the pool is junk, and I know he has many of the good tiles.
>Bob_Frey: J M13 J.. +20 323
>Joshua_Sokol: AAEFSTV 6B VA. +14 352
#note didn't want to do the obvious E2 FAVA in case he has SEAW(A)RES or many other bingos, but FAVA N1 doesn't give anything up. The obvious response of AW for 35 puts bob down 2 with 5 tiles left. I presume I don't draw the blank, since the blank wins after iSA(TIN) for 26 15J. I can therefore score only 18 with SA(TIN) and give 8 back. He only needs 12 to tie, which he can get at E1 at the least. So I would need to draw an E for SEE(N) for 18 at E4, which gives him 6 from my rack, and he would be unable to score 14+. so FAVA wins if an E is in the bag, but if he has AWEE?, I'm basically screwed. I can't make much of a range inference, but FAVA is far from winning. The problem with this play is when he plays AWE(D) or WAR(D) and his final rack is AERS?. If that's the case, I lose to (crazy) optimal endgame play, involving REAiS 15G or iSA(TIN) as previously mentioned. So FAVA loses to clearer things, but perhaps my play loses a tad more often to less clear things? Still, he has enough time to find StRA(F)E. Can someone find anything that might be better? There isn't much to the position, don't give back bingos and try to win in the endgame. #questionable
>Bob_Frey: AAERRSW 8A WAR. +24 347
>Joshua_Sokol: AAAEFST E2 FATE +18 370
#note I started to sweat here, because if he had something that played through the F with a double word and a triple letter, he wins. There seemed like there should be something, but luckily I didn't see anything. Cold-blooded victory, as Bob spent his last minutes looking for a play that really should have been there. This and FETA are the only two wins. Jeez.
>Bob_Frey: ?EERS D3 tE....E +19 366
#note he settles for this and I go overtime for no reason.
>Joshua_Sokol: AAS F1 AAS +14 384
>Joshua_Sokol: (RS) +4 388
#note final 378-366 after time penalty. Jeez.
