#note This has to rank as one of the most transparent attempts to go for a triple-triple.
>Dave: ABEGLU 1G BELUGA +34 200
#note Luckily Dave wasn't dissuaded from his play here.
>Bill: ?DEFNST A2 .NFeSTED +95 205
#note Didn't get the triple-triple, but 95 is nothing to sneeze at.
>Dave: TTX 7G T.XT +20 220
>Bill: ALMQRRY 3F AY +32 237
#note I don't have the faintest idea why I didn't play MARRY or MARLY at E7 here.

>Dave: AJT C7 TAJ +25 265
>Bill: EHIPRSW 3I PHEWS +51 288
>Bill: EHIPRSW -- -51 237
#note Completely moronic decision to try to tack the S on. I have to give Dave credit for his reaction after we adjudicated the challenge: "Phew!"
>Dave: AFU 3K AUF +16 281
>Bill: EHIPRSW 4L HEW +33 270
#note Quackle likes PEW. I suppose I decided that the better leave wasn't enough to make up the four point difference. I think I saw stuff like NEW and PHI under GEOPONIC, but still went with this (NEW's leave is a bit too unbalanced, especially with no vowels to play through, and PHI keeps the W). Of course, the sim doesn't account for the fact that he knows I have an S, but I still think it's good to keep the pressure on with a play here, since there's only one other S and one N that he can hook with. Of course, this line of reasoning favors PEW, since it cuts down on the number of hooking tiles he could have by 50%, a fact that I might not have given proper attention to. Still, I think it's pretty close to a toss-up between HEW and PEW.

>Bill: AILRSWY B10 W.RILY +40 370
#note SWAYL is just edging this in the sim. I don't think I agree with that. I'd rather not put tiles to bingo through right in the middle of the board like that. The danger can be seen from the fact that RAWLY, using the same tiles for 9 fewer points, sims right behind SWAYL and WIRILY. WIRILY certainly suffers from the fact that you can easily get 40-48 to the left of it, but since I have exclusive use of the O column and there aren't any other very good lanes, that seems like a more manageable risk than playing SWAYL. If anything I'd switch to RAWLY, but I think I still like WIRILY best.
>Dave: ALM A13 LAM +40 359
>Bill: AACIRSV O1 VACS +41 411
#note AIRVACS. I think I chickened out of it. It would leave one in the bag, so it should be safe to take.
>Dave: ET 4H .ET +10 369
>Bill: AIQRRRT 6F RA. +14 425
#note If he bingos I'm losing no matter what, so the two objectives are not opening anything and emptying the bag so that he can't fish.
>Dave: BEEELOR H11 .OBER +24 393
#note Best.
>Bill: IMOQRRT 13A ..MIT +14 439
#note Not quite the best play (TRIMER is), but the one essential thing is to not let him play PEEL.
>Dave: EEL I12 EEL +13 406
>Dave: (OQRR) +26 432
