#note oh god this game, i said to myself when i saw game 3 on my scorecard. he is now 4-1 against me, and all the games have been very vexing from what i remember.

#note not sure which FROZE is better, they're trading the lead. i liked mine because it blocks more 7s.

#note i lost both games this tournament where i played this word. it's annoying because words like BEWRAY are usually game winners, what with the points they score.

#note the moment of truth. NOW and then (F)OH -- the latter after some serious thought - implies a leave that is not fantastic. he probably doesn't have an S, or if he does then no E, or something like that. I need to basically learn inferencing from scratch. i did have the wherewithal to strongly consider blocking the 8-lane -- there are a few lanes for 7s, but i felt like if he were to bingo next turn, it would be in row 14. i couldn't stomach sacrificing so much to play something like RATTY or NATTY, so eventually i shrugged and played ATT; this sims just slightly below 6G TANTO. giving him a leave of ADILR, which seems somewhat reasonable, still keeps TANTO at the top, but some stuff like C12 TOT moves up as well, and NATTY is not too far behind TANTO. finally with a leave of ACIRS, NATTY falls farther behind, but now quackle likes blocking lane C with TANTO or TAROT there (but my move I10 ATT actually sims at the top!). blocking the 8 lane seems to never be on Quackle's radar. So either I'm not inferring correctly or I'm overanalyziing the hell out of this position. All that I know is that I really wanted to play on lane 14 and I couldn't stomach it.

#note i was annoyed here and only looked for a bingo briefly. i figured it wouldn't be worth to bingo in some situations, but i should have looked a little harder, thornily and nitrosyl are simple enough finds. i had my heart set on bingoing the following turn. -6.5 #focus #findingmedium

#note this loss after the bruce loss really destroyed my tournament. there's no coming back for this with someone with my middling mental constitution. the meow meow doesn't just come out of nowhere, i need to enter into a deep meditative trance for it, and it's very hard to do that in the middle of a bad tournament; i should have started before but as always i'm always running around showing up 3 minutes before my clock starts and hyper from coffee because i didn't sleep well. there's always the next tournament.
