#player1 David_Engelhardt David Engelhardt
#player2 Samuel_Kaplan Samuel Kaplan
>David_Engelhardt: ADLNOR 8D LARDON +16 16
>Samuel_Kaplan: DIOQRSU J6 QIS +40 40
#note Right idea, SUQ J8 is better. This is 3rd.
>David_Engelhardt: ABDE 7E BEAD +21 37
>Samuel_Kaplan: ADEIORU 6I E.UID +15 55
#note I did consider 6J QUAI, the best play, but knowing David's game is tighter boards, I decided to play this one more unconventionally and fork. Forking in this spot against a more defensive player is the way to go.
>David_Engelhardt: EEINOPU - +0 37
#note Not actual rack. Exchange 5
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEGHORU 5E HUGER +20 75
#note Bad bad bad... 6E OH is obvious and scores better.
>David_Engelhardt: AHOW 4B WHOA +25 62
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?ABEIOW 3A WOE +27 102
#note Best play!
>David_Engelhardt: EJ A1 JE. +39 101
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?ABEITY M3 BEA.Y +30 132
#note BEATIfY 4H is very findable...this is best nonbingo play.
>David_Engelhardt: IIR D8 .IRI +4 105
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?ILRRST 11C T.RL +8 140
#note TIRLS plays at N2 for 40. I gotta see these plays more often than I do.
>David_Engelhardt: ?AIPSTT 4H PASTI.sT +86 191
#note 4G aPATIT(E)S scores the same and does not give up a 3x3. I did almost had one tho.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?EIIRSU O3 U.IlISER +71 211
#note Only bingo that plays on this board.
>David_Engelhardt: ACCOO 3G COCOA +33 224
#note That is an excellent find!
>Samuel_Kaplan: EENNNPV 2J PEN +25 236
#note Best play!
>David_Engelhardt: AATX 1G TAXA +39 263
>Samuel_Kaplan: ENNOSVY N10 ENVOY +30 266
#note 1L ENVY is best. This is 2nd but does set up my S nicely.
>David_Engelhardt: EFM O13 FEM +34 297
#note And my S is gonna be used differently now.
>Samuel_Kaplan: EGNNSTZ 9C Z.N +27 293
#note Considered ZING and ZIN here, one vowel I draw and I'm in business.
>David_Engelhardt: GIMN B2 M..ING +36 333
>Samuel_Kaplan: EGINOST F7 ..G +18 311
#note Holy crap I didn't even think of the TAXATIONS extension. Wow that is easily better. This is not bad in it's own right if I'm looking to bingo.
>David_Engelhardt: EKO M13 OKE +36 369
>Samuel_Kaplan: EINORST 15F SEROTIN. +77 388
#note Only 11H TERNIONS and 15F SEROTINE play on this board. I knew I could go for a bingo as the unseen pool was full of clunk. All I had to do was not draw the V and this wins no matter what.
>David_Engelhardt: ADFLLTV L10 FALL +21 390
#note This is David's best play.
#note I'll take a win the last game no matter the result after what happened Rds 5 and 6.

Still a couple of mistakes in this one but this one was definitely overall better. Finding UTILISER as the only bingo at the time was huge. Plays like TIRL and HUGER were very weak, I could have had 40+ more on those alone.

I will say this: as great as my start was, including beating a top 20 player in a tourney for the first time, this tourney did slip away from me very quickly and that's gonna happen with not drawing well and failing to see plays like the ones referenced above.

4-3 against a field of experts is respectable and I ended up 5th of 12. Rating change 1651 + 12 = 1663, a new peak. Onto the next one.
