>Samuel_Kaplan: CELNOTX 8D EXTOL +26 26
#note I have all of Scott's racks for this game.

I am shocked to see that COX sims better than my play. EXTOL allows the board to stay open longer and by playing COX, that encourages a more closed board which I don't want. COX also gives back much more than EXTOL does. Also, the 8H placement puts the extensions in play.
>Scott_Appel: ?FJPRTW G7 J.W +25 25
#note Scott makes the right play here. The best exchange would be -FJPW but 25 points is too many to pass up.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ACEIKNQ 7G .ACK +22 48
#note E7 AXENIC is 8 more, but Scott just played off 2 high point consonants so he most likely has more. KQ is very clunky despite the 8 extra points. I decided to only allow him the floating E in EXTOL to use to get rid of the additional consonants he is most likely keeping.
>Scott_Appel: ?EFPRRT E5 PRE. +26 51
#note This is Scott's best play.
>Samuel_Kaplan: EIIINQZ F4 QI +15 63
#note F2 ZINE is 22 more but I absolutely despise the Q. Now is my time to dump it.
>Scott_Appel: ?BFORTU F8 .OFU +20 71
#note Funny thing about this play: Scott originally played TOFT in this spot before switching it to TOFU. This play is best, although I got the floater I needed to bingo.
>Samuel_Kaplan: EIINNOZ 11F .NIONIZE +84 147
#note See what I mean? I would have done 8J IONIZE for 54 if it weren't for the floating U. I would have scored anyway luckily.
>Scott_Appel: ?BORSTT N9 BiSTORT +84 155
#note This, TuRBOTS, or BeTTORS are all best scorewise.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ADEEMSV L9 MA.E +30 177
#note I did not know I1 MEDEVACS. Having said that, I passed up O6 EAVED as that's unnecessarily aggressive. I felt like my S had a lot of potential so I passed up 12I MESA. O5 EVADE or DEAVE are worth considering but this is also fine, I have the hooks.
>Scott_Appel: AGIINUY K5 GUY +35 190
#note Scott has been on point with all of his plays so far. There's a good reason why he's a top 20 player.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ADDEOSV 15L VO.E +33 210
#note I saw but didn't like 15K OVATE as DDS sucks (I mean the leave not the title of Doctor of Dental Sciences lol). I did this as it allows my hooks to MAZE to be protected better as Scott would have to sacrifice many points to play through the O in BISTORT if he doesn't have the hooks.
>Scott_Appel: AAGIINN O4 ANGINA +28 218
#note G3 AIN and 8L AI are also reasonable but I can understand him wanting to dig for the 2nd blank.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ADDESTU 13L DU. +25 235
#note Best play!
>Scott_Appel: CGINOPY G2 PYIC +33 251
>Samuel_Kaplan: ADEISTV D7 D.VIATES +77 312
#note Yep
>Scott_Appel: DDEEGNO D1 DODGE +28 279
#note His best play again
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?AEISST 2G .ASTImES +72 384
#note H1 TIES is best? No thanks, I'll take my bingo this time.
>Scott_Appel: AEELNRT 13A LAT.ENER +68 347
>Samuel_Kaplan: ABHILRR 1H HAIL +42 426
#note 1L HAIR is 3 more although this does take out 2 hotspots at once with another unseen H in the pool. The 1H spot is one way Scott can get himself back in this game.
>Scott_Appel: EEHLMOR C2 HE +21 368
#note Smart play to give himself another bingo line.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ABFIRRU A12 F.UB +39 465
#note A9 FIBULAR would have guaranteed me an out play with every unseen tile which would have gotten me a couple more spread points. I saw FUBAR B10 but I did see WOOLMEN in the unseen pool and while FUBAR wouldn't have lost me the game, it would have cost me a lot of spread. This outruns WOOLMEN at B3 just fine and seals the deal.
>Scott_Appel: ELMOORW B1 LOWER +35 403
>Samuel_Kaplan: AINRR A5 AIRN +14 479
#note 8L AR would be 8 more spread points tho.
>Scott_Appel: MO A2 MO +21 424
#note This is Scott's best out play.

Games well played like this one are definitely good for my psyche. I had to be spot on with a lot of plays to have a chance, and I did for the most part. I was very fortunate to draw some goodies after DEVIATES and kept outrunning.
